I hate what you're feeling, Defive, but do understand it. In May, 1970, I saw old guys who would reach their deaths before they'd ever forgive that feeling of betrayal and ever return to Roker Park. I'm truly sorry mate, having known the feeling myself.

There's a message in here, Relic.

Don't give up, because the last time you felt like this, we won a trophy three years later. I'll take that right now!

A glimmer of hope again smashed on the rocks of reality. Totally feked off with the inconsistency of it all, teams like Watford, no disrespect intended at all and well done to them, come up to the SOL and take all the points, ....ffs, the passion alone should be enough to pulverise them, but no, the chance of cheering up the fans before Christmas is lost......AGAIN.
Hats off to all those that went to the game, KTF, in a years time it'll be all history no matter what and life goes on. For me, ATM it is just hard to bare as it seems, like a tooth ache, always painful and it spoils my whole weekend. Bournmouth players have shown their fans the joy of the game, our players seem to revel in giving us misery. Signing off for now. KTF, the loyal fans and the club deserve much better, hopefully things will turn around. Apologies for the griping, it just seems to be endless and maybe I am part of the problem. Goodnight

Perhaps some guys are missing the point here? I think what Defive - and so very many before him - said was essentially 'what the loyal fans deserve and what they get is very, very different at Sunderland'.

Give your head a shake you daft tart. When things start going well and you're inevitably drawn back in you're not going to feel great about abandoning the lads. It's a ****ing life sentence mate, you can't just walk free so suck it up. Sam will lay a very good foundation you mark my words, but we need to stay up first. We can all give up or help Sam turn the rest of this season into one hell of a ride.

We deserve no more than the fan of a league two club which is in administration. Guess we'll have to do with premier league football. Poor us.

Go stand in the corner and give yourself a ****ing good blocking mate and when you've done that, give ya heed a shake.

You're right, Pops is a legend on here and he'll do a cracking job as well. But supporting the lads is a lifetime thing mate, you don't just walk away. I've supported Sunderland since i was 6 and have rarely seen success. It's a rollercoaster ride for sure but then again, unless you are fan of the big four then there's always going to be ups and downs. Granted we have more downs than most but that just makes us stronger as fans.

Just try to remember that feeling you had when Defoe smashed that volley in against the scum, remember the crowds response, remember the after match celebrations in the town, That's why you support Sunderland mate and never give in.

I was there yesterday. I could not believe the fans streaming out with the lads pushing for an equaliser. Where was the passion. Yes they were crap first half but why do hordes have to leave the place half empty when the team needs support

So near yet so far yesterday.
Still, it's like the herpes virus = once it's in your blood it's there for life.
We've been ****e for years, we should be used to it by now.
Still, doesn't really matter where we end up. I'll still tune in & discuss the game in the club & with you deviants on here.
That's just the way it is.

I just hoped Sam would sort out results like yesterday's and put a stop to us losing against teams like Watford. We have now lost to all three promoted teams this season and we need to stop that run. Sam will get it right he obviously needs more time, losing Kaboul yesterday didn't help, he needs a run of games with a settled side, knowing us we will get points out of all the next three fixtures, that's what supporting Sunderland is all about, always expect the unexpected. How can you stop something that's already happened <confused>

You are the second person on this thread, and the third person on this board, I have seen say we should be beating teams like Watford. Why? Just because we have done in the past? Just because we are a bigger club? We played a team that was in form yesterday with two of the most in-form strikers in the league. I believe Watford will go on to be a decent premier league club. Like Swansea and Southampton managed.

Do you expect us to never have a result that you don't think should be happening under Sam? That's football, we will also be beating some of the top teams when we aren't expected. Sam made the right decisions and his decision to change Yedlin for Rodwell so early in the game was very impressive. We nearly sneaked one at the end and there's not a lot more we could of done.

The biggest disappointment for me yesterday? The 'support', we the supporters didn't deserve anything. We never supported the players, we never encouraged the players and a **** load of fans didn't even hang around to see the team throwing the kitchen sink at Watford. Look a bit closer to home and you might find the root of the problem.

Without just looking at our disasterous season so far, this is one if not the best.

Leicestet flying. Bournemouth beating chelsea then man u in consecetive games.

Some of the big boys falling flat. Chelsea imploding. Man U look all over the place.

The likes of Watford and Palace soaring up the table. Everyone is beating everyone. (Well apart ftom us. But that could well change).

Its strange. Im no more worried about playing chelsea and city than playing Stoke or Watford. As anything can and probably will happen.

As far as I'm concerned I've thrown another £400 down the toilet and that's before an overpriced **** pint has passed my lips, it's crap, it's flat and did I mention the beer is ****e.
It's tiresome and boring and not an enjoyable experience, yes we've had our moments, the great escape was fantastic v west brom but what lead to is was painful, I will always follow Sunderland but from next season it won't be from the stands, I've put 12 consecutive terms in and this is my last

I understand the financial implications mate, but you'll never stop supporting the lads, none of us will.

I chucked my season tickets last year, but that was cos i'm away at work for most of the games so for me it was a no brainer. I still go to all the home games when i'm home though. It's like Billy said, it's like Herpes, it's in the blood.

At the end of the day we are Sunderland fans & we always will be.
Whether we choose to go to the game or not is immaterial.
    It's still in your blood.
