I don't get why you signed Graham

Surely you should have bought someone that could play along side Fletcher, but these two strikers are just identical in style.

Both over 6ft, good in the air, not that quick or skillful. It kind of reminds me when we'd play Carroll and Shola up front, it was terrible.

I think you should have signed a nippy little striker to play along side Fletcher, and if MON thinks Sess is that player, then he's mistaken.

This is brilliant...<ok>...If Tash thinks they won't play well together then the chances are they are going to be fantastic..<party>

Been playing one up front all season, dont think that will change! He was signed as backup/competition for Fletcher, simple.

Tell us something we don't know mate. Graham was bought to cover Fletcher and maybe support him when we are 2 down with 10 minutes to go. His game time will be limited unless Fletcher gets injured. The nippy striker you talk about would mean MON going with 2 strikers, he won't which is why we got Graham.

Or, It's quite obvious to anyone who knows **** about football that they're extremely similar types of players.

I aint saying they can't work together or that they definitely wont work, but IMO you should have bought a different type of striker.

I can't wait for Cestria to get on here trying to engage me in an intellectual debate with his imaginary brain.

Graham is not similar to Fletcher in my opinion, Graham makes really good runs and has very good movement whereas Fletcher is a bit more static as more of a build up player who can also ping a ball onto Graham's runs. I really think it will turn out to be a good partnership, isnt going to set the world alight obviously but if they get 10 goals each a season it will prove a good partnership.

Nice dig there! Yes they are similar but to say they are not skillful? Graham is more of a workman type but Fletcher has bags of technical ability, just look at the goals he scores.

<doh> Anyone with a brain can understand what I meant. I aint gonna argue with a pathetic little bitch who takes offense at the slightest use of words that he doesn't agree with.

Same question to your lot why you signed Cisse when he's very similar in style to Ba when you too played one up front?

Actually they're not the same. Ba is strong and powerful, can be used as a target man and is good in the air, and puts away chances when he's slot through on goal. Cisse is more skillful on the deck, more creative, and more of an instinctive finisher. He scores goals that most strikers can't, but isn't the sort that runs in on goal and slots it past the keeper like Ba.

then why didn't Pardew play Ba off cisse instead of sticking Ba out wide this season and cisse last? esp with the injurys you've had?

As been said be others DG wasn't signed to play in a 442 with SF.

Because Ba wasn't happy to play on the wing anymore which worked so well last season, and Pardew caved in and tried to find a system to please both our strikers, which failed.

I personally think Pardew should have just played a system that worked best and said "play there, and tough if you don't like it", but he didn't.

I guess he thought that having two quality strikers up front with Ben Arfa and Cabaye behind them was enough to win games, instead of having a good style of play. It worked sometimes, but failed long term.

We'll just have to move on. Our style of play has improved since Ba left, his head was only in the game for himself.

But, but but.....you had a decent team last season (sadly) and shocked a lot of teams, and finished high up..

Expectations were high amongst your cattle, talk of top 4-6 again this season......

    Then.....bang.....reality..

so do you think he should have just played one or the other upfront. them two competing for one place? rather than having cisse infective out on the wing this season.

Cisse is finished just like Torres, cannot hit a barn door <whistle>

Fletcher is a much more skilful player than Cisse as well.

You're right they are different - Ba scores and Cisse can't hit a barn door
