In the semi final of the champions league you will be playing footballs equivalent of al Capone. I genuinely hope you beat Barcelona even if it's at the expense of Arsenal being the first London club to lift the champions league trophy which I think will be the case if you get past this hurdle. No one will forget the joke of 2009 where you were clearly cheated and told to swallow it without complaint. Now I'm no admirer of Chelsea but I am a believer in justice. I'm not one of the blurry eyed neutrals fooled by barca and the sudo artistry. I can count at least 3 or 4 games over the last 3 years in the champions league where referee assistance has exceeded what is deemed acceptable or just straight cheating. Good luck Chelsea! Genuinely a Gooner!
I find it interesting that London clubs seem to support other London clubs when playing any other team than their own? I support 2 teams, Newcastle and whover are playing Sunderland.
Why am I not surprised ????? The difference is that the others are true supporters, while you're narrow minded.
Watford fan thinking exactly the same thing - sick and tired of Barcelona cheating. As you say, there was the farce at the Bridge in 2009 and what happened to your lot last year was a disgrace too - why should RVP be the only man in the world who could have heard a referee's whistle form 50 yards in a packed Nou Camp/ They're rapidly becoming the 21st century Liverpool. Good luck Chelsea.
Oddly, having just watched you live tonight, I think there is a good chance Chelsea can progress past Barca. You have 4 players in the last throes of their career and the combined will of them could be enough. Based on tonight only though- Barca will rip your midfield and defence to shreds. Mikel is too weak, Meireles floats around and Lampard is turning into Danny Murphy, a brilliant liability. In terms of attack- the wing forwards are not running the flanks. What is Ramires doing wide up front? He is obviously the best central player at the minute. When Torres did get the ball tonight he was the only one in attack, the other two were catching up. It makes it easy for the defenders. I remember going to Stamford Bridge a few years back, in Smalling's big game when he conceded a late og; the difference between then and now is stark, probably the most obvious of any teams I've seen in recent times. It's a big task for who ever is called upon.
