Edwards scores!! ...perhaps the most vital goal of his entire career. Edwards for heavens sake!

2 mins to go...is this our lifeline!?

Massive win if we make it...

I reckon they were so excited about the new banner they upped their game! <laugh><laugh>

Another fantastic performance from the defence, 5 clean sheets from last 7. Up to 17th in the table and looking much more comfortable! I'm already getting excited for next season with Mick the magician!!

(Based on the radio commentary) I disagree, I thought we were much the better side. We created a lot more chances than they did, but (as always) failed to finish them - luckily we only needed one! I thought for the first half we dominated, but they came back into it in the 2nd half. It sounded like Edwards was back on form today, it makes such a difference having midfielders as goal threats! Apparently the midfielders had been told to start getting involved up front more, and they listened!

A game of 2 halves, we played well 1st half, they should have won it the 2nd. But Lady Luck was on our side for once...and dont we need her!

Well done the 2 of you...love the banner...did the trick today obviously! Well persevered.

Massive win, especially when results around the country dragged the bottom half into even more madness.

We are still only 4 points off 3rd bottom.. but then looking at Brum who were floundering with us for so long now sit in 11th <yikes>

A win at home to Leeds and we'll all start to breath a little easier <ok>

Excluding the bottom three, the other teams below us have one or even two games in hand. This was a vital result but it has changed nothing except for being one less game to play. It's still all to play for and we could find ourselves finishing fourth from bottom.
That will be enough for me, I want this season out of the way and the next one to start.

(Based on being at the game) We were the better side 1st half, should have gone in at h/t in front but Murphy wasted a 1 on 1 (of two during the game), but it was an ugly 1st half with little quality form either side, but agree we did shade it.

2nd half we were awful, constantly on the back foot with no idea going forward. I would imagine the possession was something like 30-70% in Trotters favour although we always had them at arms length. We just had no purpose going forward, the changes were required but McGoldrick going of rather than Murphy was strange although ultimately correct, what a funny game football can be.!

It just shows how unpredictable football can be, Edwards was average at best (I am being kind) but he pops up with the winner, albeit he needed two strikes at it.

Please have no illusions, it was another game much like Uddersfield when we got something out of a game that we looked 2nd best in for a large part.

For this I applaud MM because under previous regimes we would have come away pointless.

Our football right now is ugly, but slowly & surely we are getting away with it & moving towards survival... a couple of wins & a couple of draws required.!

Thanks for the report <ok> obviously radio commentary can be a bit biased so always good to hear from someone who saw it with their own eyes! I think Mick stuck with Murphy because he is probably a bit better in the air than McGoldrick and the rest of our team probably lack in that area. I had a quick look on a Bolton forum earlier and they were saying great things about Edwards always getting the better of Alonso so he can't have been that bad!

Anyway at this point of the season I couldn't care less if we play like barca or braintree as long as we keep getting points! <laugh>

For the next 8 games its points not performance, but does anybody know for sure that Mick will be with us next season, I remember some talk of him maybe leaving at the end of the seson.

Exactly, we need to stay up at any cost...<ok>

    As for Edwards;

Even Cressy & Drury had better games than him..!

There was a rumour that he had it in his contract he could leave if he was offered the Ireland job, but I think that was said to be nonsense... Mick will be here for the long-term I'm sure! <ok>

Also, anyone who was at the game what did you think of JET when he came on? Was he the spark in a team that seems to have lost confidence going forward, or was he just a fresh pair of legs??

I was there and I quite enjoyed the game.

It wasn't pretty, but it was a well ground out and well deserved win. It was end to end and Bolton thrived on the counter attack.

In case anyone needs reminding, we've just beaten the form side of The Championship. It was never going to be easy.

Cheer up people. Three points in the bag. Next song. NEXT SONG! (random Tenacious D reference)
