Teams like Bournemouth and Palace probably turned up in the Premier League with operating costs below £20m We are used to seeing promoted teams struggling, but with the amount of money they have available to them overnight, it's almost like a huge springboard to leapfrog teams that are lumbered with a dysfunctional squad, like yourselves. They turn up with a clean slate, assemble a bunch of grafters and hope for the best. There's never been a better time to be promoted into the PL, only badly run clubs like QPR will stick with the old model and look awful no matter what.

(Except QPR)! As for the Stoke etc - they've just been better run probably and played the market better!
I Agree (although I don't believe in God!) - I was being economical rather than looking anything up! So you can add another £1m onto my estimate with theirs (maybe even 1.5m)

Heard Defoe was on 80k a week like. But the alternative was Dozy, so turns out it was a cracker of a deal for SAFC. I can't wait for the transfer window to close. Every ****in year is the same. And it's always got me wanting it to close ASAP. I reckon it should close a week after the season begins, one last chance after a game to see if you need anything else and incase there is an injury. Then close it and get on with the season. None of this 3 games down, then a mad scramble on the final day. Close the window and get on with the football.
Defoe was on 80 at Toronto, he took a pay cut to come here and the Canadians called him greedy until I mentioned sebastian giovinco and they shut the **** up
Scandalous that players like him and Dos Santos in their prime are wasting their careers in that graveyard.
Would have gone something like "Im sorry, I just dont agree with you. Again, sorry. Eh. Sorry. Lets not fight. Sorry"
I'm bit by bit collecting every name who's played under short and for how long. We can then work out wages + price paid - price sold to = what operating costs have to cover. We'll never know the signing, agent and bonus fees and we'll never know sacking settlements however it will give us a rough idea of what's going on.
