NORWICH are ready to target Celtic manager Neil Lennon to replace Aston Villa-bound Paul Lambert. The former Northern Ireland midfielder features on a list which includes Birmingham chief Chris Hughton plus ex-Canary favourite and Cardiff manager Malky Mackay. Norwich chief executive David McNally worked with Lennon at Celtic and also knew Lambert from his Hoops links before appointing him in 2009. Seems almost ready-made for the post then!!!! Doesn't seem as though the board is going to waste time bringing in a replacement. Also - Lambert to be given 'war-chest' by Randy, even though the club made a £54M loss last year. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...o-replace-Aston-Villa-bound-Paul-Lambert.html
I didn't see it coming either but thinking outside the box a little I could see it happening, following the recent friendly game between the two clubs. Would not be surprised (in hindsight) if things were not "right" when that game was played and talks between McNally and Lennon took place. All speculation I know but certainly not impossible things have been said and done in the background. If we got NL, I do not think I would be sitting here going "WOW" but would of course support the choice and see how well he can do.
Thai - Yes, but who thought "WOW" when we signed Lambert and look what he has achieved. I definitely trust that the future of NCFC is in safe hands as long as McNally is 'pulling the strings'. PS - Seems like 'Doomcaster' has found his right level norht of the border!!!!
I totally agree with your argument about PL's appointment, that is why I am more than happy to give the new guy a chance. The only thing that lingers at the back of my mind is he is a manger in a largely noncompetitive league, made all the more noncompetitive this season with Rangers getting a points deduction.
