Should we give him an extra 5 minutes to reconsider ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37268815 I do not need to add anything else ( but I will ). Despite my apparent scepticism, I can appreciate the difficulties of being a referee -- that's partly why they have two assistant referees AND a fourth official to help them. - but - my biggest gripe is that, between them, they apparently do not see some major incidents -- you know the ones -- the incidents that can really influence the game ! I stand by my claim that I believe that referees allow politics to get in the way of making the right decision, ( too many times ), at critical times in matches ( I call it cheating )................. or do the glaring inconsistencies in decisions by the referees actually indicate that they are not as good as I give them credit ? ( can they expect to have it both ways ? )
