What you don't get to see during the games is the insane movement of the ball...unbelievable swerve ! please log in to view this image
Can't imagine it to be all that difficult. Some of them balls were swerving, I seen one which was a slower ball. It will be to do with the way he grips the ball in his hand and the stitching in the ball will help it to cause movement in the air. Just like cricket.
In cricket it swerves on bouncing mainly. Some swing in the air but not to that extent. I am reasonably impressed
Kudos to baseball pitchers mind, they must practice for years. My arm is usually ****ed after chucking a tennis ball around for 30 mins for my Pooch. If footballs were universal and weren't being constantly changed I imagine we'd see some mental **** involving dip and swerve from the top players. Ronaldo's had a good go at it.
Can't say I have, watched King of them all Jimmy Anderson, surely it doesn't swing that much, not in a position to argue cos never had the bat in my hand, so if you say it so, stand corrected
Fascinating the fastest ever pitch in baseball is only 8mph faster than the fastest ever bowl in cricket. I was expecting the difference to be huge.
I think I must have a good throwing arm, I remember my P.E teacher saying he'd never met a tosser like me.
The cricket one was set by a Pakistani. All them years of stoning women to death for reading books pays off evidently.
No way. how do you explain the ability to bowl in swinging Yorkers? I.e. A ball that bounces at the batsmans' feet which swings? Have seen thousands of them on tv and also faces a large number of them in my younger days. Have seen a swing bowler swing a ball from a straight arm as much as in that video.
I've faced bowlers that were unable to control the swing of the ball properly. I remember one lad bowled 11 wides in one over against me. He was bowling right arm, over the wicket and the ball was swinging that much by the time it got down the wicket it had swung about 3 yards past my legs!
