It is just past 9am on a weekday... there is a big match this Sunday, you are personally playing pretty poorly and your (new) team are languishing near the bottom of the table. Can you bloody well stop tweeting and get on the training pitch and actually try to improve? Is it too much to ask ???? In one fell swoop Harry could change the bitter feeling that we are all part of right now - he could judge his players on their actual performance, drop Mr. "it is so much easier to run a testimonial season/ book tour from London" Ferdinand, pick players like the Chief that would put their lives on the line for the club and were busy getting their hands dirty in the lower reaches this time last year, ban all these good for nothings from social media and actually get them prepared to play a match in the Premier League! Instead on Friday we will get a press conference about how nice it will be on Sunday for him and Rio to go back to where it all started, he will trot out the regular excuses about how 'ard the PL is and what a great job Sam Allardyce is doing there, no one will dare ask him why he is complaining about lack of full backs when he sold Simpson, was prepared to sell Traore, consistently ignores YSY and used a squad spot on SWP rather than Harriman. We might even get the fitness excuse again as if players from other teams get magic dust sprayed on them at the beginning of each season making them fit and he will bitch about the WC affecting his players (because no other team in the PL sent players to the WC). We might even get the "Remy left us a little short up front" when every person on this board could have told you that he would jump if he could before Sept 1. Maybe, just maybe, if it doesn't affect all their other social engagements, we can see a team and manager that look like they want to be here, that look like the trained together during the week (including crazy things like "how to defend a corner") and that actually are put out on the pitch with some sort of coherent and cohesive shape and plan. At the top level in other sports, players and coaches spend hours poring over videos of opposition and prior games even when they are not physically training (can't expect these guys to be out on the pitch all the time), they know strengths weaknesses, where they are likely to place corners, how they set up for set pieces etc. Do we do any of that? Because all I ever seem to see/ hear is Arry on Talksport, Rio promoting his book, other players watching hours of TV shows..... Rant over for now
I was going to start a new thread earlier this morning, but it can just as easily go here: I must agree that hearing/seeing Rio going on about anything and everything except QPR NOW is very annoying. If the bůgger was playing well then I wouldn't mind, but considering some of his performances it can get quite infuriating. So, Rio, if you (or any of your mates) read this .... I am unhappy. I am fed up with hearing you pontificate on other teams, clubs, managers etc and then have the gall to put in below average performances for your current club. You may have taken a pay cut to come to QPR, but you are still paid more in a week that many of the supporters EARN in a year. They pay good money to watch games or have Sky just to watch matches they can't get to. Time to stop being Rio the media whore and star being Rio, the QPR star player and someone that others can still look up to. Being a mate of Harry's is NOT enough. Prove to us that you're worth it.
What's all this about? Did Ferdinand do a dodgy interview this morning or summat? EDIT: Just seen Kiwi's thread. I do wish he'd just shut up.
Wow!! you have clearly put in words most of my thoughts over the past month or so. Well done, and I totally agree, we need more Mr QPR's that want to be part of the team and will give their all.
I was going to tweet him and realised he has a picture of Jose mourinho as his background as he is in his latest magazine.... wtf is he playing at. As has been said if only he put as much effort into a game as he does on twitter etc.
4 more games in my book to get focussed rather talk of the past We must win our next home games IMO Liverpool are there for the taking as are Villa I can only hope against West ham but looking like a tough call against the scum … This is the match we need to work towards and again a match that could change our outlook … No excuses if we roll over against Chelsea.
From the heart Rbs.......... ....I think its a symptom of a general alienation from the professional game, especially at the top level. I feel increasingly detached from the players, management, owners who are all transient and often short term. No heroes there. In effect I support a name and a shirt, bolstered by memories and cameraderie. Perhaps it would be different if we were winning, or at least playing well, but I'm not certain. Equally not a QPR thing, its a general malaise, all fans know they are being ripped off yet our addiction is too strong to kick......
I think it's the old adage about the total being more than the sum of the parts - if the essence of the club seems to shine (either on-field success or a distinct footballing identity) as opposed to the individuals and voices around the club then it's easy to understand why you persevere. When you're just drawing on names, shirts and memories then it can feel a bit hollow and the malaise creeps in. Due to the nature of the addiction, one hit of a great display gets the buzz back though..... [crosses fingers in anticipation of Sunday]
You're into cars aren't you, fancy one of Tony's all conquering F1 cars from 2013? Here you go: http://thesheriffsoffice.com//artic...g-sale-of-a-formula-one-vehicle-and-equipment
I try and be upbeat Col but really shocked at watching the last four games on catch up Been a lot of talk also in the press and the teams actual performance does not match the hype generated I of course will never throw in the towel but its a lot worse than I predicted and feared as we grow from a great little club into some what if a joke This wasn't the direction I thought about and its a lot worse under Harold IMO 4 more games and all of us deserve a massive improvement before the Chelsea game I feel very sorry for Hughes and NW at this time
At least they don't have Suarez to ritually humiliate Hill this time. That game was really one of the most painful experiences at a football ground I can remember, made worse by roadworks on the A40 making the whole thing an 8 hour experience of misery. Can't make the next one, we'll 'click' and win 4-0.
