Not with the fixtures we have next year. All we need to do is stay in touch around Christmas. We can then put a decent set of results together, added with new January signings, and we will be fine. Keep the faith lads, there's a long way to go. FTM
Correct, clubs like Cardiff, Norwich & West Ham have a very difficult run in. With our home games it will be our own fault if we go down.
this I dont give a **** how many chances spurs had or how many times they hit the woodwork, they didnt get a 3rd, another own goal and another **** performance from a ref, fell for them falling about, like the cnut did in midweek with the swarmers whilst we go about it in a professional manner. My heart still tells me that we will go 2014 till the season ends undefeated at home. Not sure it will be enough though. When **** is going against you, your ****ed, its not one-offs either its every game. please log in to view this image
Your management and senior players have been quite magnanimous towards the shameful refereeing decisions that have gone against you. Kick up a stink and see what happens. Didn't Pulis suffer something similar until he had a rant? The only thing keeping you at the bottom really are poor decisions and the odd lapse in concentration. For what it is worth, I agree with the OP. You won't go down.
I think your March fixtures are good.I do not get the reliance on your home fixtures. If you look at Hull away fixtures so far they have been mainly against the top teams so feasibly we will have an easy run in of away matches. Not many are that confident
I agree that we have a decent run of fixtures coming up but it's important to realise that just because they are 'easier' on paper, they still have to be won before they are better. We've struggled for some time now going back several months and these lesser teams are also fighting for their lives but are doing it far better than we are currently and picking up points as well. My heart still says we can put a run together but sadly my head is winning the argument about whether we actually will. I'm still hoping for the best but I'm preparing for what is sadly becoming the inevitable.
dont forget we have 'unwinnable' away fixtures between these 'winnable' home fixtures! We need to be virtually unbeaten at home the rest of the season! Cant see us turning it around! This is Sunderland ffs! A combination of poor players self destructing, bad luck and awful refereeing will see us relegated! Take one of them away, we might stand a chance! As long as the team try their bollocks off, we cant ask for anything more! I think the footballing gods have us down for relegation no matter how hard they try or how well they play!
It does feel like 1 step forward and 2 back at the minute and we need to reverse that sequence very quickly. We simply must start to put points on the board starting with a struggling West Ham team on Saturday.
Three points at West Ham would be the boost we need. They have an injury crisis..let's take advantage of it!!
I hope we're safe by the last 5 games, because I can't see us picking many points up from them, if any at all
Think I just seen that our January fixtures are all at home, surely must make the most of that. Still feeling confident about us avoiding the drop.
Once you lose Saturday you will be about 7 points adrift. You had a better chance of staying up with Paolo.
We need to get points from 9 out of our next 10 league games if we are to have any realistic chance of staying up. See where we are after the Hull game in February and we should have either climbed out of the bottom 3 or else accept that we are doomed for this season.
Pretty confident for a team scratching around for a first 11 (with all your injuries). Yes we are bottom but starting to play some football, you guys bar that shock 0-3 win at Spurs are dropping very quickly. I do believe that we WILL get something from West Ham.
9 points is nowhere near enough we have to win the next 4 for starters, Norwich, Villa, Stoke, Hull and MUST win all matches in January.
