Then i saw this ( not sure of the figures like , but it wont be far off) Balotelli, Sturridge, Coutinho, Sterling = £37m Borini, Fletcher, Johnson and Graham = £44m fooking hell we have been shocking in the market, you can hardly blame the bloke can you. There will be quite a big difference in wages i'm sure.
I though sterling came through their ranks and we haven't signed borini. You could go Andy Carroll £35 million to add balance.
Was just for comparison mate, dont think they signed balotelli yet have they ? Sterling came from QPR half a million
Just goes to shows it's all about the market you buy from and the stature of the club. If you've got champions league football to offer then you can have the pick of the world elite at reasonable prices. We're in the same boat as many I suppose.
It might come out of Ellis's pocket originally, but ultimately the debt is added to our bank debt as and when he thinks we can handle it. For example, he's just transferred £28m from our debt to him to the bank this summer. This will be because our income from Sky has increased and we're better able to pay it back. Basically, he's training the club, and particularly its accountants, to run the club in a responsible manner. I'm with Short 100%. Long term, we can only get better from the initiatives in Africa and now the USA, and accounting sensibly. I think Ellis is good for us.
As has been noted. It's not just the transfer cost it's the wages. I just hope our determination not to pay over a certain amount, doesn't knock us off the big boys table. I think I read Balotelli will be taking a huge pay cut to go to Liverpool, I'll bet his wage will still be huge though.
Havent a clue what they are but at a guess balotelli - 80k sturridge- 60k coutinho - 30k sterling 10k ( seen this somewhere) Total - 180k fletcher 40k graham 35k jonson 45k borini 40k Total guess 160k per week 20k a week about 1 million a year.
Still at the end of the day HIS money! Club loses he loses , wins he wins etc IM gutted when i lose $5 never mind DG money
mate if your a billionaire then £100m makes itself back in no time at all, i think we are very lucky to have ellis, not so confident about saggy byrne mind
I have been giving this considerable thought : Liverpools attendances are on par with ours so what is it, shirt sales? No! Its the global brand, ellis has shot us up the rich list this year, the deal with dc united is impossible to comprehend its magnitude, ****ing huge! Ellis has a vision, not a click of the fingers type thing but a working progress, i reckon we have offers on tables for players arl ower the shop, last season was a miracle make no mistake, he'll put in whats needed to preserve his goal, the next level
you reckon ballotelli will be on 200k a week ? I reckon your spot on mate. The aim was and is to build a brand, 100% sure why we signed Altidore. Its not a huge "soccer" town were im at but i have seen a few Jozy sunderland shirts, and Not a day goes bye when NBC dont mention Sunderland and USNMT Soccer star Jozy Altidore. So even if on a small scale it is working. Hands up i thought DG would turn out to be canny signing at the time.
they anticipate sunderland v man u will smash 1,000,000 viewers U.S. RECORD 3.3 MILLION TUNE IN TO NBC SPORTS GROUP’S OPENING WEEKEND OF PREMIER LEAGUE COVERAGE Most-Watched Opening Weekend Match: Saturday’s Arsenal v. I've said it before, the EPL's rise in popularity here is nothing short of astounding. Keep in mind, that on the West Coast, the first game usually begins around 4:30 am (yes, I watch them), so those viewership numbers don't tell the whole story. Tomorrow's game will be a massive success here as measured by viewers. I ****ing hope Sunderland smash 'em, and I also hope Jozy scores, he's a popular lad here. The effect could be enormous. If Ellis were smart, he'd sign a couple more yanks (Cameron would be a good start). The payoff could be immense. Not the worst thing having everyone in a Sunderland shirt over here. HaHa, my first one is 8 years old.
hahaha which are that far out of whack ? Asked my mate who his a red and he reckons bout bang on with exception of balotelli being on 130k , ne doubt sterling is due a massive hike as is sturridge
