Couple of weeks ago, I made a thread titled "Moyes OUT thread". In spite of my strong feelings that David Moyes is not the man for the job, I have to say that I am very proud of the way Manchester United board is dealing with the situation. Apart from Arsenal, no other top club in Europe would give that much support to a manager. And the signing of Juan Mata this week is the best indication yet that the board is firmly behind Mr. Moyes. He is truly a lucky man to be at United.

In fairness to David Moyes, I think this has been a steep learning curve for him which I think he is now just starting to get used to. The level of expectation is completely different to his Everton days. In recent interviews, I have also noticed that he has changed his tone when referring to United from "them" to "us". It is almost as though he now sees himself as the United man. I was also impressed with his reaction after the loss against Sutherland. No more smiley interviews after defeats. This is critical if we are to regain our winning mentality and re-establish confidence across the team. I want a team that gets angry and dejected after losing. This has been the hallmark of United over the years.

As for Manchester United as a club; we will do just fine. This season is a write off from my perspective. But I now expect Moyes to remain firmly in charge into the future and to re-establish Manchester United as the force. With couple more strategic signings such as Juan Mata between now and start of next season, I am hopeful that a turnaround is coming. I guess we just have to be a little bit more patient and philosophical. It is frustrating watching us lose so many games, but once a positive momentum kicks in, things should gradually get better.

In close, I truly hope Moyes remains the man to turn things around. It would be a great turnaround story which is part of Manchester United's philosophy and what makes the club such a great example in world football.

I am glad you picked up on this, as the owner of a company i always think when an employee makes reference to "you" instead of "we" he is not for us.

In a weird sort of way, I have to say that I have actually enjoyed watching us this season. lol.. I also have to say Moyes had zero luck on his side from the very beginning. Those first five games were very tough and along with that came all the negativity that turned into a snowball. Then of course there were those home matches that we should have never lost. Very disappointed with that. We need to turn OT to a fortress again.

Word!! I guess having been at Everton for so long, it took him a while to get with the program. Not sure why it took him so darn long. Another mistake was getting rid of the full backroom staff. I'm sure he looks back on that as a mistake now. But what is done is done! Hopefully his new backroom team start coming together as well.

Same here, i kind of like the idea that we "have to win this game" instead of "we will win this game" ;)

The bit in bold isn't necessarily true. Trophy wise maybe (unless of course you count the prestigious 4th place trophy which Arsenal hold in such esteem) but momentum wise definitely not.

There's no reason why we can mount a genuine challenge for fourth and there's no reason why we can't aim as high as feasibly possible in the champions league. I think we need two more signings this week to do that (some of the 'gossip' is encouraging otherwise I'd say wait to summer) but no point in just accepting a season with no European football next year, or worse one in the Europa, when we can still maybe get fourth.

Im sure some of us were unhappy we didnt make a bigger effort for Bale so to get Mata in and for it to take only 5 days is another Pro on the Moyes in list shall we say.

Would Spurs have let him go to Utd?
Would Utd have offered anywhere near what Real payed?
Do you believe everything you read in the papers?
