What he said about patience being the key, and asking the fans to be patient with Moyes when he starts. I wish all clubs show some patience like Man U did and look at the reward they got. He is in my opinion the best I've seen.
No I don't but I have also great hopes of things to come under the management/coaching of S O'D at Bristol City, At the time of AF's appointment I was living in Manchester and when I couldn't get to a City game I would go and watch either Man Utd or Man City who ever was at home, you could easily in those days, and you could see over a couple of years how he was changing the team at Old Trafford. Funny thing was I thought he was right to sign Ralph Milne not that Ralph Milne was a great player but he provided cover to a young left winger who was being converted to left back Lee Sharpe this wasn't a successful experiment and he went back to Left Midfield/wing and Milne no longer had a role, Milne was a lot like David Noble IMHO loads of talent but couldn't or wouldn't put the effort into playing that would have made him great. If AF hadn't had the time to finally build his teams would Man Utd have been the force they have been in the Premier years not a chance. S O'D might need a couple of years to completely change Bristol City and I hope our fans remember that you can't, without spending shed loads of money, completely turn around a football club overnight.
Man U rewarded by being patient with him in the early days. Certainly the best ever club manager in British football (and arguably anywhere?)
You can, in my opinion, spend shed loads and change things very quickly. But as I posted on another thread this morning, the success gained is rarely sustained because the foundations are still sand and not solid material. So while we'd all like a quick fix at Ashton Gate, we must let SO'D and the rest of his team, lay some real solid foundations on which to support our recovery.
