Thought about this quite a bit.

I know Ashley has no intention to sell for the foreseeable so the ONLY hope to see change is to see us go down, at least to the Championship if not lower.

A big drop like that will cleanse the club of the hangers on, overpaid players and generally folk who don’t want to be here.

We know Rafa is away whatever happens so if it ain’t this season when we drop it will be next.

I’m genuinely not arsed any more. The whole ****ing place can just go rot in hell for me.

The ONLY person that we need to be cleansed of is Ashley. The rest are irrelevant, and i include Rafa in that.

    Are you talking to me?

I don’t think going down will make any difference. It hasn’t the previous two times. Thought he would have learnt his lesson but now think its a battle of wills with Rafa. He wasn’t happy that he wouldnt sign a contract extension and now wants him gone. With our current form he could probably do it without too much of a backlash from the fans whereas at the beginning of the season there was no way.

Sacking Rafa now - would it mean he would have to pay out Rafa's remaining contract? If so I reckon he (Ashley) would just leave him in charge until the end of the season.

There is something seriously wrong at the club (On another level to normal) when you consider the results we have had since the start of preseason.

Look we do have under investment, but even I (I am a pessimist didn't you know) cannot believe how actually bad we have become since the end of last season. All the goodwill, effort and trust in Rafa is more or less gone.

In some respects though I think things feel the worse they ever have been. We currently look nailed on for relegation. If we do not win at Southampton, it is most likely the worst start to any season we have ever had. Get relegated this time and I honestly DO think Ashley will sell up as he will have to pump more money into a sinking ship.

    A disgrace really!

Which makes it even more of a joke how he's treated Rafa since the end of last season. Give him £50m to spend and guarantee we're a Premier League club next season, or lose £150m (at least) off the value of the club when we get relegated if he decides to sell up. If he doesn't sell up he's gonna have to stump up another £20m - £30m to get us back up so either way he either has to spend money or lose money.

I honestly cannot figure out what the guys agenda is. Like someone said on anothe thread, take the footballing side of things out of the equation, he is lower than a ****ing snakes bollocks and has no regard for anybody, including his own parents.

    I think its pure stubbornness.

But your right he stands to lose more doing what he is doing which is pure madness.

I don't think we need rid of anyone except Ashley. We will always have plastic fans like all clubs. The players are not here for a free ride like sometimes in the past. They seem to care and they try their best. They make mistakes but not through a lack of effort. Same goes for Rafa. Far from perfect, but impossible to judge fairly due to constraints. Some think he walks on water, other think he is too negative. I sit somewhere in the middle. However to truly assess him you have to give him some sort of budget.

Ashley on the other hand I can assess quite quickly.

    ****.

Nah, **** that. This bouncing back as champions in one season gets less likely every time it has to be tried and it'll be tried without Rafa. And being out of the premiership is horrible.

I do think that relegation is not the key to getting rid of Ashley. Let's face it, the club is not up for sale because he needs the money, it is up for sale (or not) because he cannot be arsed any more. If we go down and the value of the club plummets i think that he will just dig in for the long haul. We will still offer him a decent advertising hoarding, even in the Championship.

The best chance of him going is if we stay up and some lunatic billionaire comes in and offers way more than fair market value for the club, whilst stroking Ashleys ego so that Ashley feels that he has bent the buyer over twice............................................ so we are ****ed and the parasite is going nowhere fast.
