With the news of a potential 8 signings in June it got me thinking about our squad as a whole. If ALL of the signings came off (although there are still a few up in the air) we'd have a squad of:

    GK

    Gordon
    Mignolet
    Westwood

    Defenders

    Bardsley
    Bramble
    Turner
    O'Shea
    Brown
    Ferdinand

    Midfielders

    Sess
    Malbranque
    Larsson
    Gardener
    Catts
    Meyler
    Colback
    Gibson
    Elmo
    Richardson

    Strikers

    Gyan
    Dongwon
    N'Gog

    Youth Backups

    Laing
    Noble
    Knott
    Cook
    Reed
    Adams

That ain't half bad at all for June! With that squad I'd say we only need another defender (Onuoha), a winger (N'Zogbia) and a top striker (foreign leagues?).

Bruce has seen we need a squad and that we need permanent transfers rather than depending on loans. He's also seen that we need goalscorers from midfield. Gardener and Gibson aren't afraid of a shot plus Larsson can't half take a freekick in addition to Sessegnon who I think could have an incredible season if he keeps up the form from the end of last season.

N'Zogbia still isn't out of our reach. Liverpool want Downing first leaving us to battle with the unclean from up the road. I'd happily pay £10million for him considering what players are now going for (Henderson, Carroll, Phil Jones - albeit for their potential).

As for strikers I haven't got a clue. I'd take Pavluchenko but that looks unlikely and we could probs do better with a big foreign name coming in. Gomis and Moussa Sow have both been mentioned and although I haven't seen a great deal of them, that Sow sounds class!

Then you think of the finances involved:

    Henderson plus Bent = £44million

    N'gog, O'Shea, Brown, Gibson, Gardener, Westwood, Larsson, Dongwon, N'Zogbia, Onuoha = £40million

Then we could go out and sign a striker with the remaining £4million plus Short's cash.

IMO the future is bright. KEEP THE FAITH

And which of the current squad will go to cover the wages of the incoming 10 players. From what I can tell Hendo and Bent leaving is about £85,000 a week off our wage bill. Doubt those boys will take £8,500 each.

Need to lower wages massively. No mention there of Killgallon, Nos, McCartney, Carson, Campbell, Riveros, Angeleri...

I'd settle for that a week if I really had to. Have to cut back on the spending like but sure I'd survive!! <ok>

Good points though NQDP, sooner we offload some of the dead wood the better.

IM starting to warm to the idea of O'Shea and Brown. Looking at that back six its pretty solid, with depth too. Only problem is will they actually come? If we can pull off those two, along with Larsson and Gardner I will be rather pleased indeed.

Personally I think O'Shea could be class and to be honest at a club of our stature with his ability and experience... I wouldn't be surprised if he was made captain. Brown's an unbelievable talent at both centre back and right back and there's an absolutely cracking chant we could steal off united if we got him.

    "He's big, he's bad, he's Wesley Brown,
He's the hardest man in all the town.
    With orange hair beware.
Come and have a go if you dare..."

However I don't think either are particularly keen. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Should still not be that many signings for SB's third season. It should have been quality not quantity by now

We should **** Brown and O'Shea off and get Hutton and Roger Johnson, simple as.

Would love this. Might need an extra 5m or so though, which (worryingly) doesn't seem so forthcoming this summer (so far, prove me wrong Short!)

would be happy with all those signings, wouldn't lose sleep if Brown doesn't come but he would add experience

after them lot IMO we need 3 more

    a left back (???)
    a winger (N'Zogbia
    a replacement for Bent (???)

I think you have erotic fantasy's about N'Zogbia Poolie ;) You've really got a thing for him haven't you?

I fear for your sanity if we don't manage to sign him :)

These are 2 younger players, one of which we already know made us look a better side when we had him, Brown is decent, but ageing, O'Shea, well i think he's ****e, personally, but he's been at United too long for him to be a dead loss.

United sell players who are starting to decline, generally, Gibson is an exception, he's young, and his attitude to leave United so he can play bodes well for me.

Yeah I agree completely. I think Johnson would be a great buy in the middle as well. Hopefully him and Hutts would be seemingly more keen to move here that the apparent lukewarm reactions from Brown and O'Shea.

Im still hoping Welbeck ends up in the same boat as Gibson over the summer :)

Hutton, Welbeck, Johnson & Gibson, plus any ****er with a left foot, and i'll be delighted.

The only way is down from United, so Brown & O'Shea, if they don't wanna leave, will be dog **** for whoever buys them.

Pair of ugly ****ers as well, not that that makes any difference like..

Neither of them have Angeleri's luscious locks but I'm sure they'd play better! (or at all)

Imagine Hutton, Welbeck, NZog, Johnson, Larsson, Gibson. With Westwood, N'Gog, Dong making up numbers. Wow! Never happen though...

Although on that matter, talking of money etc, surely they recognise 'Welbeck' will sell more shirts and fill more seats than 'N'Gog'!

N'Gof for £3million is a worthy gamble, but we desperately need a Welbeck sort.
