I’ve spoken to Sherwood and he wants my job, admits QPR caretaker Ramsey Share: by Frank Dalleres 10 February 2015 1:07am QUEENS Park Rangers caretaker boss Chris Ramsey has admitted discussing the struggling club’s managerial vacancy with former Tottenham colleague Tim Sherwood, the favourite for the job. Ramsey, who takes Rangers to Sunderland tonight, also believes Sherwood deserves more credit for the current success of Spurs, where they worked together with the academy side before enjoying a short-lived but successful spell in charge of the first team. “I would be a liar to say I haven’t [spoken to Sherwood about the job],” said Ramsey. “I think he is eager to get back into work. You can only play so much golf and watch so much daytime TV.” During his five-month stint as Tottenham manager, Sherwood fast-tracked the first-team prospects of Harry Kane, Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason – now key figures for his successor Mauricio Pochettino. Ramsey added: “He did a fantastic job at Tottenham. I think they’re reaping the benefits of some of the stuff that was put in place four or five years ago to help the academy. I think it was probably underrated, the job that he did.” QPR, who lie two points from safety in 19th, visit the Stadium of Light still without an away point this season. Sunderland have won just twice at home but are unbeaten in four games in all competitions. so its us or re runs of emmerdale then
Still not convinced Sherwood is our man ................. Keep hearing Nigel Aktins may be a better proposition. He has managed smaller 'hoops' ( Reading ) before so that must put him in good stead, ........
Considering he just said he wants the job himself he does say quite a lot does our Chris. Relax Chris have a go at Chief Exec, Phill Beard's had a good go at it. #No Harm Done.
Telegragh """"""""""" Tim Sherwood seeks guarantees from Queens Park Rangers during negotiations to succeed Harry Redknapp Favourite for the manager's job is playing hardball with QPR, haggling for a salary in line with other Premier League managers, and a bonus for staving off relegation please log in to view this image By Matt Law Tim Sherwood wants to return to return to management with Queens Park Rangers on his own terms. QPR are believed to be willing to offer Sherwood a contract heavily based on bonuses and incentives to succeed Harry Redknapp. But Sherwood has been playing hardball over the fact he wants a lucrative deal in line with other Premier League managers, plus a bonus for saving QPR from relegation, and guarantees over the summer transfer budget if he keeps the club up. The haggling over the kind of the deal Sherwood is likely to be offered has delayed an appointment that appeared to be straightforward, but the 46-year-old remains the favourite to land the Loftus Road job. Sherwood was similarly tough in his negotiations with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and eventually got his own way by landing an 18-month contract – even though he was sacked five months later. QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has attempted to widen the club’s search past Sherwood, but received knockbacks from Derby County’s Steve McClaren and Real Madrid assistant-manager Paul Clement. Fernandes and director of football Les Ferdinand remain confident an appointment will be made in time for the new man to take charge of QPR’s Premier League game against fellow relegation strugglers Hull City on February 21.
