    Remember this?

Am I the only one not happy with the signing of Barton? I still don’t want that thug at my club. I don’t care that he is better than what we’ve got, he represents ALL that is wrong with society at the moment. He is celebrated for being a thoroughly unpleasant person and spends his time informing the rest of the world about the mindless, trivial minutia of his life. Where have our standards gone?

It gives me no great pleasure, but I TOLD YOU SO

I remember you posting it Roller, and of course you were right. Some of us had reservations but kept pretty quiet in the hope that maturity meant the leopard had changed its spots. It hasn't, not much anyway.

However, there are other fans from other clubs who have to cheer on ex-sex offenders or racist thugs. Barton isn't those thankfully. I'm more worried what he's going to do to the club's reputation than what he has done so far. We can all put in a petition to get rid of the guy this summer (might do some good if TF listens). But for now and the next 18 odd games, we have to support him and the rest of the team. I can't see we have a choice.

I think that its better save those ugly feelings against JBarton until summer cos it aint do anything good for the team right now. I must admit he's very controversial character and certainly not a mr. nice guy ,but he is also very footballer and so important to us (at least now when ali is out). Warnock himself is no gentleman and would have left a better memory of him if he had'nt said those bitter "twitter words"

Pass judgement at the end of the season. If he scores a few goals and puts in the performances we know he can he may just be worth the hassle. If not there are many thousands of hoops who will let him know just what we think of him, hoisted by his own petard!...

Great post mate, spot on. If he guides us to survival then I might be able to forgive him for his petulant behaviour.

All doesn't seem to rosey in the camp right now?
Warnock, although i've never liked the bloke, but respected him as a manager, hasn't done himself any favours with this media stunt, & as for Barton i think he'll do your club more harm than good with his twitter dribble, i pray we never end up with a twat like him!

Love him or hate him Joey Barton lives life in the spotlight who seeks acceptance through twitter. Personally I think he is a uneducated wannabe socialite however he can play football and for that reason he is an asset to the club. So much for Neil Warnock being able to deal with wayward characters, seems he froze players out and couldn't handle Joey or Adel. In hindsight perhaps we will realise in Warnock we should not have trust.
