So, we've been relegated, we're at the end of the season, Moyes is staying, there's a load of players leaving and being sold/released. Who do you go for player-wise to bring in? Bearing in mind we should make some money bulk of it from Pickford & Kone, there should be something to spend.
Similar threads going on rtg and fools are harping on about Ulloa and Chris Woods. Deluded, we won't be spending 8m+ on single players. We need a 40 man squad and we'll be nowhere near that once the latest contracts expire and the loans go back. Short will want the wages kept down and i can't see more than 15-20m being made available to fill this tiny squad out. I'm expecting a lot of players I've never heard of to be honest. I can see me joining a lot of forums this summer trying to get info them.
I'm for letting the dust settle after after waving off those who are out of contract and taking stock off the ones left. There will always be players available at a price so this year is not that different from any other.
like to think we could keep Pickford (unlikely I know),however maybe on a loan back basis,Watmore,McNair,Love,Honeyman,Gooch,Robson (maybe all of them),plus other under 23 players. In addition experienced players like Cattermole,Anichebe (yes I think they will be good in the championship (if they can stay fit). Defoe is unfortunately going so a proven championship striker around the two thousand pound price mark The rest can eff off for me but we need to add players as long as our spend is under £100,000. this should reduce our wage bill and minimise the overall spend and hence reduce our debt so we would be able to consolidate our top twenty place in the championship,ready for a push on over the next 2/3 seasons. We will get there in the end,of that I am in no doubt.
