So wenger has a budget of £35mil....apparently! Obviously you can never be exact but attempting to make a realistic assumption on prices of players and allowing for sale of players (e.g. walcott) how would you handle this budget? Even if you don't want to use the entire budget its all good.

    Heres what i would do
(provided he doesn't sign a new contract) sell walcott for £13mil
    santos (sorry man) £3mil

    buy
    adrian lopez £18mil
    mateo kovacic £18mil
    decent lb...opinions?

    Promote
    gnarby
    eisfeld

    1. Sell Theo if he doesn't sign a new contract
    2. Sell Santos if he plays that badly again

    Buy

    1. Mario Gotze. lets blow all 35 million on 1 player, and Gotze is good enough for nearly any team in the world.

    Loan

    1. See if we can get Eduardo on loan from Shakthar
    2. Get Henry back for a few weeks in January, cover Gerv going on an african adventure.

    Promote.

Serge Gnabry has basically been promoted already

We normally seem to sell two of our best first team players a year these days so it will sell Theo and one other. It'll be someone we've had for a few years so Im guessing itll be "an offer we couldnt refuse" for Sagna. Next year will be Gibbs and Wilshere if we dont stop the rot. We'll then bring in some internationals, not top players but the level below and will promote a couple of youth players to the first team squad, quite possibly Gnabry and Eisfeld as the OP said.

I know this is quite negative but Im just saying what I expect to happen based on recent history. We'll probably have inflation busting ticket price increases as well. Nothing I can do about it though and I'm an Arsenal supporter so will have to put up with it. I dont have a choice, Im not some plastic who will decide to support another club because theyre winning things.

I think some of you may need to consider that the 35 million will include wages for the payer(s), when you look at it like that then it won't get you that much in the current market.

Could still theoretically get Llorente, Soldado or Lewandowski though. Any of them would do a job.

I think its ridiculous to want to sell Santos - i realy don't think you lot watch Arsenal play.... Either that or the only memory of Arsenal you manage to keep in your heads is the last performance.

Santos joined at the start of last season. He was unfit (well....fat) and completely off the pace. He had a couple of poor games right at teh start of his time with us - in a team which had like 8 defenders out when the team was a shambles and he was in a new country and unfit. Once he had gained some fitness he was our best defender up until his injury.

Then this season he has only managed a few performances due to Gibbs being in form until his injury. Aginst Norwich he was our best player - he made up for soem terrible play by others and was our only atackign outlet as well!

And then against Shalke he had a mare. Total rubbish! But a poor game doesn't make a poor player. He hasn't been getting game time so its no wonder he is a bit inconsistent and not quite on the same wave length as the rest of the defence.

Santos is a very good option as a second choice LB tbh and i think its silly to think sell him for a few mil and try and replace him. You won't get a better second choice LB comming to Arsenal and i think we should be happy to have him - love his style of play.

Not saying he isn't good but he has cost us 2 goals by not pushing up with the defensive line when they want to play offside (probably stems from not playing with them this season) however he isn't a starter.

    SELL:

    Djourou - 1m
    Bendtner -5m
    Fabianski -1m
    Arshavin - 5m
    Park - 1m
    Denilson - 1m
    Chamakh 4m

    Soo that's 35m +18m.

    BUY:

In my opinion a striker is our priority. Giroud is a decent target man but is a long way from RVP 's quality.

Karim BENZEMA £25-30M - He's powerful, very quick and is a typical 'Arsenal style' striker. Wenger would get the best out of him and with his options limited at Madrid he could be tempted to leave.
(If Benzema is unavailable my second choice would be Llorente.)
Experienced back up keeper - Craig Gordon is FREE.
Leftback - Balzaretti. £5M. Experienced Italian International, The guy can defend and would make us considerably more organised at the back. Also would not be too expensive.

So that's 35 Million without cutting in to the 18 or so million from sales. Also free's up more money on the wage bill.

    --------------------Sczezney--------------------
    Sagna--Mertesacker----Vermaelen---Balzeretti
    --------Diaby/Wilshere-----Arteta---------------
    ---------------------Carzorla---------------------
    Walcott-----------Benzema------------Podolski

Bench: Rosicky, TheOx, Giroud, Koscieleney, Gibbs, Ramsey, Gervinho and Craig Gordon.

Suddernly the team HAS pace and looks like it would score alot of goals.
