Well big Whoop! When will that useless Clegg ever learn! http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/21455/hyam-agrees-new-town-deal
Hes contracted til summer 2014. Sounds like a good idea to me. He looks promising currently but we all thought the same about the likes of Bowyer, Haynes etc but they can soon go off the boil so I would rather not give him a stupidly long contract just for the sake of it. If he does well for the next 6-12 months then we can always renegotiate. The club may do alot of stupid things but this makes sense to me.
Seriously mate, as I said on a post yesterday replying to Spanish, Im not sure what the hell Clegg/ Evans are trying to achieve at PR currently but I honestly think unless you are certain that a player is going to be a major influence in your team then 2 year contracts are the best bet. It covers the club both ways. If he does well for the next 12 months then you still have time to renegotiate his contract without him being able to walk away for nothing. If he doesnt live up to expectations then your not paying him for ages to do nothing. For example Jaime Peters - how long did we pay him money for nothing as it was clear that he was nowhere near the first team picture but was contracted for 4(?) years.
That is laughable. Hyam and Bowyer comparisons? Piss my pants funny. Ridiculous. Poor misguided fool Hyam I bet he's on no more than £2k.
We can all say £100k a year is a lot of money but if you're a footballer you don't retire at 65, you may well end up dropping down levels or retiring at 32. Football should be about dreams coming true and inspiring the rest of us but he's going to do well to get a two bed semi on Felixtowe Road out of Town.
Hyam signed the contract that was offered to him so i'm sure he is happy with it, if he is happy why are people moaning about it.
I'm sure there's going to be no offers for coaching, management or punditry if he's going to be as good as everyone says he is. He's agreed the contract, it show he's happy with it, really don't see what the problem is to be honest. He's got about 21 months to prove himself, and earn a longer and higher paid contract, I think he will do but we'll wait and see.
no one on here knows what his contract is anyway, some people need to get more in their life to worry about, boredy bore.
