Liam Rosenior's team are unbeaten in five league matches, including a one-nil win at Leicester City earlier this month. They are two points and five places above Leeds and have had the luxury of a day and a half more to prepare for this feisty fixture. The last time these two teams went into battle, was during Bielsa's Championship winning campaign, with West Yorkshire's finest coming out easy victors by six goals to nil over both legs. please log in to view this image Liam Cooper, Patrick Bamford and Stuart Dallas remain long term casualties. New loan signing Djed Spence is expected to be out of action for up to eight weeks following a knee injury he picked up in training. Luke Ayling will battle it out with Jamie Shackleton for right back. Sam Byram returned to action earlier than expected against Millwall, and with Junior Firpo still not fully fit, should keep his place in the Yorkshire derby. Dan James is pushing for a starting slot after impressing during his cameo role at the weekend. Hull City hope to welcome back midfielder Ozan Tufan. The Turkish International has been struggling with a thigh injury that has kept him sidelined for the whole of September. Left back James Furlong faces a race against time to be fit for Wednesday after overcoming a knock in training.
Afternoon all I was on the Hull message board shortly after we were relegated, I was asked how would we feel when/if we see Hull fans waving Turkish flags, would we take it personally. Long story short, apparently it has been something the younger supporters of Hull have done for a long time as they are showing support for their owner Acun Ilicali. Anyway, their DOF posted this which I have copied from the Hull City match day thread: Match Day Thread - Hull City v Leeds | Not606 y:
Hull are on form and being a local derby anything could happen. I would have preferred meeting them in another 2-3 games time when we have more of a settled squad and it's not an ideal game to be playing on the back of a hard game away at Millwall, the weather might influence it too. I'm still going for a Leeds win, three points would be huge for us, a draw would still be decent
They've had an extra couple of days to prepare whereas we are on a quick turnaround and travelled twice. Makes you wonder how the fixtures are worked out. I think that will have a substantial impact on this game. I'm hoping to sneak a win but I'd take a draw right now. Its Hulls Cup final in tricky conditions and I think we might run in to trouble here. A scrappy win here would be a fantastic result.
Same here in that would be happy with a point and then move onto Saturday. That said you have to play for wins in this League so if we were to get turned over it’s not that big of a deal really. Just go at them hard and see what happens.
I'm just glad we're playing Dull away, given that they'll be less likely to park the bus. They've only won 1 at home & drawn the other 2, so the pressure is on them. Easy 4-1 win for us. <where's the feckin' emoticons for 'fingers crossed' & 'crapping myself'?>
No extra pressure on City, we go into this one comfortably the top side in Yorkshire in this division. UTT.
Perhaps, but you'll lose that self-appointed title tomorrow night. You've clearly forgotten who we are. After tomorrow night, you'll never forget or make such silly statements again. Hull? As a footballing force?
Yep, they got moved back to Friday for sky and we got moved forward to Sunday. Seems a little unfair given they must know the next fixtures. At least we kicked off at midday I suppose but they could have moved it to Thursday you would have thought.
“clearly forgotten who we are.” You’re a potential 3 points is what you are. Anything pre 20/09/23 won’t help you.
