And that Astley Flynn thing wasn't true. It was an hilarious hoax by Woodhouse publicly announcing that he'd signed someone he hadn't. Bantz.

Hull United AFC will be leaving the KC Lightsream Stadium

We would like thank Neil Hudgell and all the staff at Hull Kingston Rovers for their help and support over the last few months, despite Neil allowing Hull United AFC to use the facillites rent free, the running costs on a match day of a 12,000 capaity stadium are too high for a club of our size and stature, meaning Tuesday would have been our last game.

Hull United are working hard to find a short term soloution, along with a long term vision for the home of The Citizens.

    Thank you for your support.

Ferriby would be the ideal solution if:

    1) the pitch can handle the extra games
    2) they're prepared to play outside the City boundary (by some distance not just a few hundred metres as per Dunswell)

edit : pending league rules for both clubs as well re ground sharing

Hull United have been given an £8k grant from Hull City Council, the council are going to get a whole heap of **** from every other amateur sports club in Hull, it's a really odd move (particularly as, technically, they don't even play most of their games in Hull).

Don't know anything about this but it will be to do with the new ground/academy base. Last I heard however was that funding wasn't the problem and planning permission for floodlights etc was. Is there any published info on this?

As for the county cup, United were knocked out by Ferriby's youth side who play a few levels below them. City U21s play Hall Rd some time this week I think.

From Angus Young at the HDM...

City council leader Steve Brady gives £8,000 grant to @HullunitedAfc for youth teams training costs.

That £8k grant came from a fund controlled by HCC leader for one-off awards. Suggest direct applications to Steve Brady c/o Guildhall.

It's got paved bits for hammer throwing etc, I'm not sure there's enough grass left to fit a full size pitch on...
