Because of comments made about the club's finances. Surely that's a bit harsh, he was doing a good job for them. One of the more difficult teams we faced this season.
Magnificently short-sighted thinking, that. Given how much the players respected Barmby, I'd expect that he will not be the last out the door.
Difficult one. Barmby shot his mouth off about the lack of finances at Hull, and the owners didn't like it one little bit. Thing is, I don't think you sack the bloke who has almost got you into the playoffs. You tell him to keep his criticisms within the club, and if he can't accept that, you part on amicable terms. Sacking him seems to be a bloody stupid thing to do. Wonder what French Tickler has to say..?
Heard that this was happening over a week ago, same guy told me that Billy Davies is 100% going to be Barmby's replacement. Could be a nice little earner... EDIT - Maybe not seeing as he is 4/6 red hot favourite now, if only I'd taken more notice at the time, was 33/1 4 days ago
The writing was on the wall, they realised he was not as good as Pearson once he was permanently appointed and were looking for an excuse to terminate his contract. Bit like Capello saga really.
