"Dundee United may go to Fifa over Hull City's failure to pay more than £1m owed as part of Andrew Robertson's transfer fee. A source close to the Tannadice club has told BBC Scotland that the first instalment of the deal for the left-back was due last Friday but has not yet been received." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28889519
I remember when we signed Asamoah Gyan for £13m, we had to sell Jones to Stoke for £8m and another lad (can't remember his name at this time of night!) for £4m. We went to the owner about a million short, and Short came up a million heavy (so to speak). We got our man. But Brucie has a bit of the spendthrift about him and unless Hull's board puts their foot down like Ellis, I feel he could hurt them long term.
If they have missed a contractual obligation to make a payment then they should be made to make the payment + 20% Smaller clubs sell to bigger clubs _ that's the economics of football most of the time. But when the bigger clubs refuse to pay up then the system breaks down
Well said jd. Scottish football is going through a hard time at the moment, and that money probably means a damn sight more to Dundee United than it does to a club offering millions for yet another player like Hull. They already creamed us by crying poverty over Graham's wages while they went out and bought Huddlestone. Hull are living above their means and fleecing other clubs to do it.
Bruce has never been what you might call thrifty. He did us no favours with long contracts and high wages which we are only now beginning to recover from. Now he`s chucking money about this window. Could be awkward particularly if it`s money the club hasn`t got. Wouldn`t have thought they`d be short of £1m though really.
He is an angel ... at the buying in stage. Let's see what they think of him when the Canas, Bents, and Gyans start walking out on them. And when their whole team collapses in January and they don't win another game till October! BIBs and BOBs time then, I'll bet.
