Hull City 4th in the table and looking for their 7th win in 9 games, the Tigers have certainly hit the Ground running this year. Steve Bruce's masterstroke's in the Transfer Market have made City contenders amongst the Play Off places pretty much all Season up to now. Dangerman Sone Aluko has definitely been the main protagonist for Bruces' side and now that players are beginning to return from injury such as Jack Hobbs and Tom Cairney, the side can only get stronger. The new additions of Robbie Brady and David Meyler have given City both that extra defensive reliance and attacking flair. City's defence have seemed to enjoy shipping in goals this Season, but have calmed it down recently and with the new signing of David Stockdale on loan from Premier League side Fulham, extra measures are being taken to ensure City stop conceding so many. Definitely not a side that wants to draw this year, with an "All or Nothing" attitude, it's shown that the Tigers are not a side to be taken lightly. Burnley A young man named Will once said, "When people ask me if I like football, I say, yes, I do like football, but not Burnley. Burnley can **** off" and this statement is ever so true for the City faithful. The Lancashire Club have walked away with all 3 points in the last 6 meetings between the sides and have become one of City's infamous bogey teams. Add the bad omens to the fact that Burnley have 20 goal Charlie Austin upfront against City's leaky defence, Stockdale may well certainly have a busy debut should he start. The last time City won against Burnley, was the Famous Promotion Season of 2008 when Hull saw off Burnley 2 - 0 at the Circle. This Season however, they have lost attacking minded Eddie Howe and are lurking at the lower reaches of the Table and should Austin be taken out of the game, you take Burnley out of the game. McTorres' Mystic Ball Prediction I'm sure us City fans are all tired of listening to the same omens over and over again. Yes, City are dire against Burnley, last Season's performance at the KC was brilliant, it just fell apart at the end... We've already got rid of the voodoo curses from Grounds such as Elland Road and St.Andrews, there's not reason this new-style Hull City shouldn't tear Burnley apart. If we can keep the individual mistakes to a minimum, stay solid and keep Austin quiet, we should ease through the match. I'm going for Hull City 3-1 Burnley. Top Scorers Hull City Sone Aluko - 8 goals Jay Simpson - 6 goals Aaron McLean - 3 goals Robert Koren - 3 goals Abdoulaye Faye - 3 goals Burnley Charlie Austin - 20 goals Martin Paterson - 4 goals Chris McCann - 4 goals Junior Stanislas - 2 goals Dean Marney - 2 goals
We've been robbed by Burnley too many times. In over thirty years of following City, the 2009 away game remains the most annoying game I've ever attended. And the only game i've ever walked out on. I require retribution.
I walked out on Peterborough earlier this Year, but that was my only walk out game. Fortunately, I didn't go to the Burnley Away 2009 so I don't understand the horror I feel sorry for you Lamby...
According to S.B , Sean Dyche must either be walking on thin ice or is suffering from dry rot at home . . . as he said he has "his feet under the floor"
I've very rarely post on here, just read. But Burnley 2009 still makes my blood boil now. One of the greatest injustices I've seen on a football field. On the way into the ground I was nearly arrested by heavy handed plod for daring to excercise my right to free movement (ie go to the local pub rather than straight into the ground, a pub where many burnley/city fans were happily enjoying a peaceful pre gamer). In someways I wish I had been arrested, charged and sentanced to 6 months hard labour, that would've be easier to accept and get over than what I saw by being allowed to remain at liberty...
Robbed by Burnley OLM ? dont think so. More like given many games away(both last seasons especially). But i expect that to change today and go 3-1 CITY. Koren, Simpson, Aluko and Austin to get the goals maybe ?
Is it ever worth betting on marney to score? I'm expecting a good game today, Chester vs Austin will be interesting. First game for me since Blackpool as I actually have a saturday off! 2-1 Aluko x2 & Austin
They always seem quite eventful matches against Burnley. I went to the match where Geovanni's freekick was chalked off for a non existant foul in the build up. I was raging as he was. Their penalty was soft as well. Then they pretty much relegated us from the top flight by beating us 4-1 on our own ground. Was there for both matches last season- the 3-2 match just pisses me off. The New Years Eve match was a typical City performance under Barmby, ie pass pass sideways, but fluff the opportunity when it came. Plus the goal was a cock up by Gulasci and Hobbs.
That game in the PL at home to Burnley is the one that still hurts as a City fan. We were abject that day and I have never seen a city side play with little heart or desire to win. It was made worse by the fact we were outclassed by a relegation rival. As for today, Austin aside I don't think Burnley have any players who can really hurt us. Keep Austin quiet then there will be little threat from them. If we're on our game and cut out the silly mistakes at the back we should be good enough for the win. Hull 3-1 Burnley.
Seem to remember they had a decent wide man last time, cant remember who tho. Good test for Chezzy today. Dont want to see him get done by Austin at the far post. Mind you think Stockdale will come for a lot more than Amos did, apparently he's vocal too. Which is summat else i think we lack.
match prediction? this is a tough one. if we still had NB, 17 nil to them, but as we have SB - 17 nil to us
I'm still hurting from going in the longside / long stand by mistake back in the early 70's ... Grrrr. Bloody Burnley fans 3-1 City today as others gave also said .

is anyone listening to it on tiger player? McKenna was our player of the season under NB, but under Brucie he has been largely annonymous.
