We should go into this game full of confidence after winning the last two. Also we have Ramsey, Ozil and Flamini back so our MF should have better balance too. I'm interested to see how Giroud does for the rest of the season because Ramsey and Giroud link up really well and it's no coincidence that his goals dried up when Ramsey and Walcott got injured.
A massive game on some many levels,a win here would go a long way to getting us 4th as it's probably our hardest game left this season.
Aside from us needing the points for fourth and so me thinking we will go all out for the points I think hull will give us a good game. Eh have us in the cup final and will not want to roll over for us.
The Hull team that plays on Sunday will be different to their cup team as both Long & Jelavic will be cup tied for the final.
Yeh it won't be the same line up, but they won't want to give us a win and confidence boost before our final with them.
Personally I don't think the result of this game will have any bearing on the final.Liverpool hammered us in the league and the following week we knocked them out of the cup
Of course how a team plays against you effects your mentality in the next game with them. I think it was obvious we took a different approach to liverpool after they beat us so comprehensively. We looked nervy in the cup game.
It's only a hunch, but i have a feeling Sundays losers (if there is one) will win the FA cup. So....you beat us on Sunday, cementing that fourth place, we win the cup, and everyone's happy
I know it sounds like a cliche but cup games are different to league games. Why else do you get so many giant killings ?
Oh I completely agree, cup games anything can happen. But I do think the mentality approaching the game is effected by any recent game with the team and how they perform. I don't think the result will give us any idea of who will win the cup game, but it might give us a glimpse of how the players might be feeling approaching the game. Hull will be looking to get some confidence by putting up a good showing against us I reckon.
Having Podolski play a whole game where I havent noticed him limping is a big plus for Giroud as well as a fit Pod will make chances for him (although I think Girouds lack of form has really frustrated Pod). I'd go with Pod left, Santi in the middle and Ox right, then bring Ozil on after an hour. Ramsey is a certain starter and Arteta performs better with him as a partner or Flamini could come straight back in, either one is ok with me as Ramsey is the key to them both performing well.
They're going to try and kick the **** out of us, Northern bastards like that always resort to cheating. They'll want to injure a few players before the cup final.
Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Arteta, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Podolski, Giroud
