    Saturday 21st 12:30 kick off
Selles has a lot of work to do this week! But how much can he actually change? We were abysmal against Cov, is tiredness an excuse ? No it’s not.
I think Jones in the back four will help.
I’d definitely play Coyle left back and try Drameh at rb.
Midfield? Is Simons back? I’d play him over the others as a proper dm
The rest is just clutching at straws

    Pandur
    Drameh jones Hughes Coyle
    Simons puerta
    Burstow omur longman
    Pedro

I’d give kamara a rest he’s going to be a really good player but needs bringing in gently.

thought palmer didn’t do enough so try omur in his best position.

    city 2-1

Easy 5-0 win to lift us off the bottom of the table and start the march to the comfortable heights of 15th.

I'd go with this except Jacob's at left back. Coyle needs a rest. Palmer doesn't deserve a start after saturday. Passing was a joke and he chickened out of at least half a dozen tackles. As coventry broke after a city attack, pedro raced back past most of citys midfield to help out. The midfield meanwhile jogged back like it wasn't their problem. This is getting so much like our last relegation season. Few of them deserve the shirt

    Pandur
    Drameh - Jones - Hughes - Jacob
    Mehlem - Alzate - Palmer
    Kamara - Burstow - Longman

I’m not really confident in that starting XI, especially the midfield. Could easily put Puerta and/or Slater in there instead. Walter constantly tinkered with the midfield and even now, there’s not a single midfielder who has nailed down a place in the starting XI and made the position his own which speaks volumes imo.

How is it we’ve signed a load of central midfielders and not a single one has any consistency to be nailed-on starter?

This fixture was that stupid 4-4 draw last time we went down. Leads pissed away three times before Eaves saved a last minute draw.

Was clear by then that we didn't have a clue how to win a game anymore, and it just got worse and worse from there

Selles has a full week to sort these ****wits out, I’m confident we’ll see a drastic improvement on Saturday.

2-0 City and a clean sheet, he’ll have them sorted, Swansea let in three last time out, they’re not in great form.

Didn't they score two before letting in three?

We collapse after letting in one.

    Please City, get a win.

start Burstow and Jones (if fit).

Give Coyle a rest for a couple weeks. I’m not ready to throw our captain to the wolves like some are but he needs a break from the firing line.

    Agree re. Jacobs.
Good shout re Pedro on Saturday. He did it more than once. And that's a really worrying sign when a (n aging) CF has to do that. Great to see his effort but it suggests something is badly wrong elsewhere.
Big week for Selles to sort a few things out.

    Pandur
    Drameh Jones Hughes Jacob
    Simons Alzate
    Kamara Palmer Longman
    Pedro

Harsh on Burstow to be on bench again, but Pedro deserves his place atm.

    We are garbage at home.
Don’t trust any of these players to even have a dig, heads will drop inevitable after a defensive mistake when 2 minutes earlier we miss an open goal from 2 yards.
Swansea will then go upfield and score after running through our midfield and our “defence” failing to deal with a cross.

    Why?
I see Hull Live are also calling it a 'must win'. Yes, we could do with a win, but why is it a 'must win'?

Because we haven't won a game since 1st October and we need to start moving up the table if we're to have a chance of making decent additions in January.

Yeah, that much is sort of obvious, but what actually makes the Swansea game a 'must win'?
Of course we could really do with a win (for points on the board, for morale all round, to make us more attractive for January, etc) but it won't be the end of the world or even our season if we don't.
The implication of 'must win' is that if we don't then we are pretty much doomed. That isn't the case at all.
Hopefully we do get a much needed win, and I think we can given a bit of overdue reasonable luck (in the game, with injuries, etc) but a draw wouldn't be disastrous at this point. We are not in 'must win' territory yet ...... but I guess it makes for a more dramatic headline.

I actually agree in this case.I'd call it a 'must not lose but at least show us some dig'...?

We need to show some real signs of progress and some steel, anything less would be cause for concern...

It's now mathematically impossible for us to better 22 points before the half-way point so this is an absolute must win. Fail to pick up any points at all in the next two games and it's probably too much to come back from. We'd need to average 1.48 points a game and that's something we've only ever done four times at this level: last season under Rosenior, the two promotion seasons under Bruce, and the promotion season under Brown.
