Well ... Acun has finally got his wish, ... are you not entertained !

Gotta say I enjoyed that yesterday, aside from the deflected shot of theirs and the truly exceptional cross for their second, but even at 2-2 I felt confident we'd score again, less confident we'd stop them scoring again though. Thought Hughes did really well, specially towards the end and his ball to Gelhardt ... wow. In Joe we have a real little superstar and a player that is obviously enjoying his football here, the celebrations spoke volumes after the that went in. Ya cant help but get behind this team, yes we make mistakes, and no we ain't world beaters, but the character and heart shown by all of them is fabulous to watch, in recent seasons I've had the feeling that some of the players were turning up to get a pay cheque, with this squad and manager I feel they're totally invested and playing for the shirt, well done City, top effort.

It was an odd game yesterday in terms of the rhythm. No one could get a handle on it I felt, very stop start. Ref probably didnt help.

Was one of those days yesterday where every time a player went down/a goal was scored it took an eternity to get the game going again. I know it’s tactical but doesn’t make for much of a spectacle.
When a goal is scored the team scoring should have 30 seconds to get back into position, if they don't a free kick should be awarded 20 yards inside their half. For both of their goals yesterday they frigged about*, and after celebrating each goal one of their players bent over and frigged about with their boot, wasting more time.

*Understandable with the leniency refs show.

Am I the only one who thought the ref was fairly good. He was consistent, didn’t take any rubbish and if anyone fell over he waved it away. More refs should be like that.

Their second goal Amir should been stronger. I can’t really think a lot he got wrong to be honest.

One thing that annoys me is modern day refs are too quick on the whistle as they anticipate contact and blow anyway, even if there is a minimal amount of contact. I think the biggest issue here is both teams are used to the ref blowing up for everything, on this case he was consistent and not taking any ‘sportsmanship’.

I thought he was pretty good too.

Reactions: PLT
Was in west upper yesterday. Not even sure there are stewards up there. Halfway through the first half a guy walked in with a full tray of pints - all the way up the stairs, along his row. Again, no-one said anything but presumably the club could get a slap on wrist or more for allowing it to happen if reported.
I’m in the West Upper too and have seen this type of thing.

I don’t feel like it was the ref yesterday either. Portsmouth were just very scrappy. Energetic and scrappy.

Didn't say it at the time as too annoyed, but the delivery for Pompey's 2nd goal was incredible, from where he was right out on the wing to put it right in between the cbs and onto the strikers' head was incredible.
Best cross you'll see outside of the premier league, all season....Easily, their danger man. I was shouting at us to snap him from early doors. Wouldn't mind him at us, but gather he's a drifter...

One of the better ones at us this season. Did he pull us or them back at one point, when advancing. Other than that ok. I recall him stopping us from an attempt at a quick freekick, which was okay cause it was crap.

Some people would say the same about Joseph's yesterday...
I've watched the replay a few times.
Their defender is grappling Joseph, trying to prevent him moving (which arguably could have been a foul on Joseph, except that's the defensive grappling what we see all over pitch all the time these days that's not given as fouls). Joseph simply outmuscles his attempts.
Absolutely nothing like Derby's goal where their forward simply climbs onto Ajayi, hands on his shoulders to get that high and to prevent Ajayi jumping, to head home.

Didn't see it yesterday, but it has happened at a previous home game this season - can't remember which one. Bloke just walked past the steward with a tray full of beers - only when other supporters pointed it out did the steward seem to realize what had gone on under his nose. By the time he found the bloke concerned - if he ever did - the beers will have been supped.
