Almost 17 years since we last played them, didn’t realise it was that long ago.

I remember the embarrassing trips there for League Cup games in the 80s.

If Alfie Jones injury is going to keep him out for a while, think playing either Burke or Smallwood in this game would be too risky. I think young Smith will get another game and maybe Flores?

As many ressies and U-23's as we can find. What's the point of a Wembley final if you can't go? Let them have the extra fixtures.

The players might fancy a day out though, chance of a medal on the mantelpiece?

Absolutely go for it. I want a trophy win.

Also a good tester to see how they play for our league meetings with them.

Yep, I'd expect Chazz's team but with Smith in for Burke and Batty in for Smallwood. (No idea if Flores is available.)

Great, another symptom for the Covid list: memory loss.

Agree. Wonder if Max Clark's International clearance will be through in time to play some part in this match?

I think one of them was my first away match in the 80s. We played them twice in the first few weeks of the season. John Fashanu was a **** who tried to break Norman. We drew 0-0

I went on motorbike, via the Humber ferry, for the 5-0, fairly sure it was 0-0 at half time. Happy days!

The name Lincoln derives from the Iron Age Celtic Lindon, meaning pool by the hill; a reference to the Brayford pool.

The Romans built a fort on the site, and it was known as Lindum Colonia and gave rise to the city’s modern name Lincoln.

The Fosse Dyke canal, which runs from the Brayford pool to join the river Trent at Torksey, was built by the Romans to improve trading links from Lincoln, and it is the oldest working canal in the country.

When it was completed in 1311, Lincoln Cathedral took over from the pyramids as being the tallest structure in the world, a record it kept for over 200 years.

In the 13th century, it became England’s third largest city, after London and York.

William Foster & Co during World War One, invented the battle tank.

Lincoln is where the story of the Magna Carta began - and ends. Lincoln Castle is home to one of only four surviving copies of the document dating back to the 13 century.

The devil was envious of the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral and sent three of his imps to create trouble and cause mischief. Which they did, they broke tables, tripped up the Bishop and threw stones at the angels in the Angel Choir.

The imp that caused most trouble in the Angel choir sat cheekily up high and was promptly turned to stone where he had perched temporarily and is now immortalised there forever.

Lincoln City moved to Sincil Bank from their only previous ground, the John O’Gaunts ground, back in 1895.

In the 2016/2017 season, Lincoln became the first non-league club to progress to the last eight of the competition since 1914 after beating Premier League Burnley.

The club made their first and only ever appearance at Wembley Stadium during the 2017/2018 season, beating Shrewsbury Town 1-0 to lift the EFL Trophy.

    That 5 none was dreadful.

Early season. Went full of hope. Absolutely mullered.

Then on the way back the bloke giving us a lift kicked us out in the middle of nowhere cos my mate was constantly taking the piss out of him.

No idea how we got home.
