Going to be a tough one. SB will stick with 3-5-2 i imagine. We're going to have to do a lot of defending so I'd bring Meyler back for Ramirez. I like Ramirez but dont think he did much against Leicester. Quinny in for Hudd. Hernandez in for Jelavic. Hopefully N'Doye and Hernandez will be an unknown quantity and will surprise Chelsea. Greegsy Dawson Bruce Macca Elmo Robbo Jake Quinn Meyler Hernandez N'Doye Chelsea have made it known they arent getting enough penalties this season. Putting pressure on the ref for tomorrow. Dont be surprised if they get one. A hopeful 1-1.
Key match stats (supplied by Opta) Chelsea have won nine and lost none of the last 11 meetings in all competitions against Hull City. Loic Remy has scored three goals in three Premier League appearances against Hull. Didier Drogba has scored three goals in four Premier League games against the Tigers. Eden Hazard has scored in the last two Premier League meetings with Hull City. Chelsea have lost just two of their last 17 Premier League away matches (W11 D4 L2). Following a run of just one win in 11 Premier League home games (W1 D3 L7), Hull City have won three and lost just one of the last five at the KC Stadium. Cesc Fabregas has scored or assisted 86 goals in the opening half of the campaign over the last six seasons, but only 33 from New Year’s Day to the end of the season over the same period. Chelsea have seen more opposition players sent off than any other team in the top flight this season (7). Only Aston Villa (6) have earned more red cards than Hull City (5) this season. Only Eden Hazard (79) has created more scoring chances for team-mates than Cesc Fabregas in the Premier League (74) this season. Stats are ****e anyway
Not to keen on playing Ramiraz myself in a game lke this Chazz although cant see us creating much, I think we will be relying on stanima , work rate and defending well and yes these are the masters at diving. same team as you fo me. I woulf save Ramiraz and Aluko for later in the game. if we got a point I would be very happy
We can't rely on Stan, reports earlier in the week suggested he couldn't raise his knob never mind his game.
I've got a feeling that SB will start with only one up top with Ramirez in for Jelly playing just behind N'Doye and Meyler in for Thudds. The problem is I can't see them not scoring so we'll need to nick one.
I think he'll go N'doye up top, on his lonesome, own-some. Pack the midfield with harrying grafters and harrowing grifters. And try to hassle our way to a point. You have to feel for the Chelsea fans and especially the management. Teams every week setting up not to get beat by them. It must be soul-destroying. I fully understand why experienced, competent, professional referees award them dubious penalties. When you think about it, it's just realigning an obvious imbalance.
Bruce has produced some truly astonishingly ****ty line ups in his time, but I don't think even he would think starting with 10 men is a good idea.
McGregor Dawson Bruce McShane Elmo Meyler Livermore Ramirez Robertson N'doye Hernandez 1 up front against their defence and we won't have a shot all game.
Oliver is the ref, it'll be intersting to see if he can follow up his excellent performance at Manure.
We could start shouting penalty! Every time they get tackled just to let the ref know we're on their case? These are the games we're in this league just for the chance to witness us beating the bastards!
There's too much of a frightened mentality against the teams at the top, that's one of the problems with football. People can try and play for a draw but normally just come away with a very predictable loss as a result. If we don't play outside of our own half I see the game resulting in no points. If they are given nothing to think about it will be like a holiday for them. We are the home team and need to show something.
