Busy day tomorrow so i'm posting it now. Big decisions and time for Phelan to earn his money. Marshall Elmo Maguire Davies Robertson Jake Snodgrass Mason Henricksen Hernandez Mbokani I know he wont go for this but he should. I'd take a point now. So 1-1.
You know the score... this time I'm gonna post defeats too. Rather annoyingly, I'm struggling to find proper highlights of the 2-1 win in 2008, so until I fins some, here's Geo's thunderbolt.
Same as it ever was. Maybe Mason for Meyler. Possibly Marshall. Happy with a point but hopeful for three.
Just the two changes for me. Phelan sees more than us through the week but based on what we've seen I think I'd struggle justifying more changes. If Marshall's gonna be No1 we need to bed him in sooner rather than waiting for Jak to make a point costing error before doing so. Dio, for me, is a Centre Forward. We played him wider out of necessity, he hasn't looked as comfortable as Livers & Clucas have in their newer positions. I'd go narrower tomorrow to clog up the midfield & make it difficult for them to play. Force them out wide rather than through the middle. Marshall Elmo Davies Livers Robbo Meyler Clucas Hudds Snodger Mase Abel
Crazy as it sounds I'd rather be away from home, they always seem to stuff us at our place whilst we cone close at theirs. Wouldn't change much, dio would drop out for Mahoney, henriksen or weir everyone else earnt their spot over the first 4 matches
In the run up to our FA Cup Final v Arsenal did you know Arsenal had 9 barren years without a trophy? Criminal.
It doesn't exist. Arsene Wenger became the first foreign manager to lift the Premiership title, when Arsenal won it in the season of 1997-98. Arsenal’s match against Sheffield United on 22nd January 1927 at Highbury, was thefirst ever English league match to be broadcasted on the radio. An exhibition match between their first team and the reserves held on 16th September 1937 was the first ever football match to be televised live. When Arsenal played Manchester United on the 31st of January, 2010 they became the first team to play a match broadcasted live in 3D. Lowest attendance at Highbury was only 4,554 v Leeds United 5 May 1966 in a League game. Arsenal FC owes their colours to Nottingham Forest. Back in the days a group of players from Arsenal approached their former club for spare kits and in a show of generosity, Forest obliged and gave them kits dipped in red. In 1919 the FA was looking to increase number of clubs in the First Division and Henry Norris, had either bribed or influenced the FA to promote the club from Second Division to the First. Though this theory is not proved, it is believed that this promotion came at expense of many other clubs that also included Tottenham Hotspurs. Highest scoring draw in English football 6-6 vs. Leicester in April 1930. The first Arsenal players to play in a World Cup Final were Emmanuel Petit and Patrick Viera in 1998. Cesc Fabregas will always be a snivelling turd for what he did.
On paper it's a foregone conclusion. They have some of the best players in the world. Sanchez if he turns up is almost unstoppable. We've never beaten them at the KC. They always perform like footballing prodigy's after ****ing up in a European game. Statistically and logically we stand absolutely no chance. Luckily, we are Ull, and we laugh in the face of such adversity. Plus we have the best defender in Europe at the moment. Stick Marshall in goal, give the new lads a start. Gerrintoem and **** them up. Regulation 4-0. Nailed on.
I think we should have a song dedicated to Europes best centre half. We are due a win against Arsenal, plus I dislike them. On a par with Man Utd for being a stain on football. 9 barren trophy less years prior to beating us in the FA Cup final. Pathetic.
Jak doesn't deserve being dropped, Mason for Meyler, Mbokani for Anne.. no more than that or you mess up the balance
Didn't want to get involved, but I see this type of comment an awful lot and I just don't get it. Surely, it's all relative. Clubs that are richer are expected to do better and win more trophies than those who aren't as rich. For a regular top four team and regular Champions League participant to not win a single honour for almost a decade is pretty damn poor, don't you think?
I'm thinking it'll be Marshall for Jakupovic, Mason for Meyler, Henrikson or Maloney for Diomande and Mbokani for Hernandez. We're gonna do it, my gut says so, and I trust my gut very much.
Completely agree. Jakupovic has been virtually immaculate in goal this season, other than the (possibly unsighted?) long range goal by Burnley, and turned in one of the best performances I have ever seen by a City keeper against Arsenal in the 0-0 FA Cup draw at Arsenal last year (see video above). What possible reason would Phelan have for dropping his in-form starting keeper.?? Marshall will get his chance against Stoke next week. Meyler will be unlucky to be dropped but Mason probably has the edge there. I expect both Mbokani and Henriksen to get some playing time. Looking for a 2-1 win for the Tigers and an end to our home winless streak against the Gooners.
Never beat them at Boothferry Park too. Last win at home was a league game in 1915 at Anlaby Rd. Only other home win was in an FA Cup replay at Anlaby Rd in 1908 against Woolwich Arsenal. We will win this one. It is live on TV here (SBS) with a midnight kick off.
Decent chance of Marshall coming in for Jak. Mick will be desperate to get Mason into the team, Meyler most likely to make way. Dio has probably been our weakest player, so is also at risk. I don't expect Mbokani to start, though I do expect him to play. Not easy to predict this one.
