The club which loaned striker Gedo to Hull City is lining up a pre-season friendly with the Tigers.

Cairo club Al-Ahly has said it wants the friendly to be played in London as early as June. In a statement on the club's website, Al-Ahly's football director Hadi Khashba said he had started negotiations with Hull City to arrange the game.

The statement said contact had been made with "officials at Hull City for the establishment of a friendly match between Ahly and Hull City in London."

However, with City's first pre-Premier friendlies already arranged for mid-July - and with players not due to return until early July - the June date seems speculative.

The arrival earlier this year of Al-Ahly stars Gedo and Fathi prompted a surge of interest in Hull City from Egypt. City owner Assem Allam has also visited the club and last year hinted at a friendly between the two clubs to raise money for those affected by the Port Said disaster in which more than 70 people died and hundreds were injured following violence at a game between Al-Ahly and Al-Masry in Port Said.

The latest friendly proposal comes as the future of both Tigers' Egyptian players remains in doubt. Gedo and Fathi are nearing the end of a six-month spell from Al-Ahly with the deal ending in late May and no sign yet that either player will be offered deals with the Tigers. Gedo has said he wants to stay and help City with its return to the Premier League.

In 2009 Al-Ahly took part in the Wembley Cup along with Barcelona, Spurs and Celtic.

If they want to arrange it in London then they can take responsibility for ticketing it, that way when no Hull fans turn up it's their problem. Pre-Season friendlies are a joke anyway these days.

Where would they play? It would have to be one of the smaller grounds? Fulham? QPR? Can't see us having a kickabout in a ****hold like brentford what would be the point.

I wonder if they're playing a couple of games, maybe Al-Fayed has also fixed something up?

    I quite like Brentford.

    A ****hole like Brentford?

Griffin Park has a pub in each corner of the ground.

Play it at Fulham then. Nice traditional english ground with some nice pubs nearby. Nice walk along the riverbank as well. Barnets new ground for obvious reasons as an option.

Come on let's be realistic here... it's a good reason to chant the "Que Sera Sera, Whatever will be will be, WE'RE GOING TO WEMBERLEY!" song ;)
Wembley's in London?... I have to hope. As long as it's not at Loftus Road again, don't want to visit that scummy ground again in my life.

The lack of imagination of our club beggars belief at times.
This is a golden opportunity to do something that will make the whole world sit up and take notice.

    First half played at Wembley.

    Second half played at Twickenham.

The teams could be transported at half time by Chinook and abseil onto the pitch.

I was going to suggest that they could parachute in but that would be ****ing ridiculous.

    But no, bastarding Griffin Park.

Tickles, you're connected. Have a word with Chesters old boy.

    MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!

We need to remember Egyptian team here people. Pyramids! Ley lines think about it!! Will be leyton Orient. Could be catastrophic which is why the Allams won't play it at the Kc. It destroyed Atlantis, if it goes wrong this time we'll only lose London, I imagine mussy has had a hand in this decision.

    Claps is right.

It's just your mind playing tricks on you.

If the people we love are taken from us, the way they live on is to never stop loving them.

I hope you can take some comfort from those words Chazz.

I can't claim them as my own but they are wise words, take heed and Mussy will always be with you.
