I wonder if Tan's departure has had repercussions further downstream than just the board. Our latest drop in form coincides more or less with him going, was he involved much on a day to day basis at player or manager level? I don't know.

The drop in form has to do with the players not comprehending what Walter wants them to do, because his tactic clearly doesn't work in the Championship. There's clearly a huge communication issue. A decent team has been turned into one of the current worst in the league. It was a terrible pre-season and chaotic august, so hopefully Acun has learned his lesson with running an English football club - **** around and find out.

There's also discontent in the ranks as referred to in the latest 1904 podcast. Tan's departure may have fuelled that discontent a little more.

He's made some mistakes, particularly around managers. He's also done a huge amount of good. We've got used to a level of home crowds that we didn't even see pre-Allams on such a consistent basis as this and certainly not with such little success to reward it. What he's done for our crowds should never be ignored or forgotten.

On recruitment, we always seem to take too long, we never sign decent strikers and there've been some duds who are obviously his signings, but on the whole we do have a strong squad of talented, young players with obvious potential for significant resale value. There's no way this squad should be struggling as much as we are.

bang on the money

The decent team you’re talking about got gutted, this is a new team.
