The launch of the club's new commercial website twice mentions Hull City Tigers. The opening sentence begins... Hull City Tigers are delighted to announce... We read further into the announcement... There has never been a better time to be part of Hull City Tigers. The cynic in me detects a not-so-subtle attempt at educating supporters to a change in name, despite previous assurances otherwise. Tell me I'm wrong!
Thanks MRF. I am aware of the ongoing debate. However, with the new website being launched today, I would not have expected the continuing use of the phrase Hull City Tigers.
It's the name of the holding company on the commerical side of the club, not the whole club itself. Or something along those lines (Someone like OLM will know the whole thing) We are still Hull City AFC.
Thanks again MRF. I was prompted by the Amber Nectar Things we think we think #104 item 8, which makes a valid comment about the pet name issue, yet the ongoing use of the phrase continues. So, despite the unwelcome noises made by supporters, the saga rolls on (in an unsubtle fashion).
We're still Hull City AFC, but only on the pitch and only for now. There's a push to change the name by stealth and force no matter what the fans want. It's ****e.
This seems a good place to post this extract from Amber Nectar's things we think we think: "16. This is not a new observation, but there is absolutely no way music after a goal will ever be acceptable at City. The supporters are resolutely against it, we are against it, and no matter how many other clubs decide to embarrass themselves with it, we really have got to be better than that as a club. Please, City, for the love of God, do not ever do this to us. 17. We regret that point 16 hasn’t been made purely at random. We’ll return to this later today." What's all this then?
Neither, and, William the Woodsman, I totally take your point and have posted similar concerns myself. No matter what bollocks is given out about the holding company name is this but our footballing name is that just doesn't wash with me at all, the fact is that the general public, especially outside of Hull, will see our owners quoting, via various media sources, Hull Tigers or Hull City Tigers and think to themselves ' wtf, have Hull City done a Wimbledon or something?' The only name that I care about is Hull City, and quite frankly I don't want to see us being referred to as Hull Tigers or Hull City Tigers....ANYWHERE, no matter what reasoning is attempted to be given!
If it is just 'the holding company', why is there a Hull City Tigers badge on the hospitality pic for the Norwich game, surely that's the football side?!
Actually. You are wrong It's 3 times. "Contact me now to learn how you can join Hull City Tigers in one of the most exciting times in our history. "
Is there an email address where we can show our (lack of!) support for the notion of Hull Tigers/Hull City Tigers? It's Hull City A.F.C!
Maybe someone (OLM ) can draft up a petition saying, the fans are against Tigers/Hull City Tigers rebranding! I can live will "Hull City" But not this stupid rugby name "Hull City Tigers"
We're not playing songs, We're not playing songs, We're not playing, We're not playing, We're not playing songs........after goals!! Just to clarify, we have no plans to start playing music after goals at the KC Stadium!!
It's worse than is being suggested, as the preferred choice for the Allam's is Hull Tigers, which is even worse. I'm pretty sure they already know everyone is against it, but I also think they are under the impression they can do anything they like and we'll just get over it. I suspect they're underestimating things with this one.
Which 'we' is that, O Wise One? Ah...now I see! http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/219012-Best-news-of-the-Transfer-Window-by-far!!!!!!!
