When Assem Allam first took the club over, I wrote to him. I listed several ideas. Making Hull a City of sport. Developing all aspects of sport, merging clubs, RL, RU, basketball, hockey and boxing. Building a sports related retail park. Sports education and medicine training. All under the umbrella of Hull City Sporting Club. Supporters would hold shares in the club. My telephone rang the next morning. Assem Allam wanted to know more and we had a long conversation. To get this pn the table the price would be 8m. From the Look North report it has risen to 11m Time for the fans to get their hands in their pockets and buy shares in the club. We might not be able to put AFC back in the name, but we could stop the City being dropped.
I wouldn't mind us being a sporting club in all honesty. If Allam is serious about a rebrand it would work far better that way. Also fits in perfectly with his plans for a sports village. Only if the other sports make a profit to spend on the football club though.
