I've just looked at betting for relegation. Bookmakers usually seem very sensible regarding football odds. William Hill would suggest the following: 7 clubs are definitely not going down. 5 other clubs are less likely to be relegated than Hull City & West Ham 2 clubs - Hull City & West Ham have the same odds 6 clubs are more likely to be relegated than Hull City & West Ham This would put us in the middle of the group of clubs who's major priority is not to be relegated. That's a great improvement in what was expected of us a year ago.
We will be fine to much **** in the league like Palace,Burnley and Qpr. Those 3 will go down I think. The players we have and are being linked with will help us aim for a top 10 finish.
I actually think we could finish above 12th, we already have a great team relationship and are now adding quality to a an experienced team, plus we have a great manager and the KC is buzzing at home, with the north stand chaange...I think this could be a good year, just one one or two new signings and id say 9th, we were always around the 12th place last season until the end and weve already had a better start, I think we will be safe, lets look forward to a great season ahead!
With the squad and manager we have it's exciting to be looking up the table not down this season and a bit heady in only out second season back in the EPL. That said I can only see top 10 as wishful think thinking. I'll be delighted to be comfortable away from the bottom all season and a higher finish than last season.
As with the relegation betting last year, they were wrong. So what they think this year means nothing either.
#avoiceofreason We'll get no where near top 10 come May. Reality check and expectations management needed on here. Somewhere between 15th & 17th (and that will do fine). Next season we'll be even stronger.
Depends if we keep getting poor referees. Luckily we still won the first game and a draw last week, but either could have been worse.
When the new look Newcastle team jel they'll be quite a tidy unit. Hopefully we can catch them before that happens.
We're a better squad than the one which survived last season. The test will be as to how we ride a tricky spell but I think we have enough to be around 14th.
I reckon if all our signings click and we don't suffer too many unlucky breaks with injuries we should achieve 11th or 12th.
