    MANAGER

    Liam Rosenior

Lads doing all right a tthe moment

    Brighton & Hove Albion
Following his retirement from playing, Rosenior remained at Brighton, taking up the position of assistant coach with Brighton's under-23 team, which he combined with appearing as a pundit on Sky Sports.[19]

    Derby County
On 10 July 2019, Rosenior was appointed as specialist first team coach to Phillip Cocu at Derby County.[20][21] He was appointed assistant manager of the club on 15 January 2021 following the appointment of Wayne Rooney as manager.[22]

Following Rooney's resignation on 24 June 2022, Rosenior took over as interim manager.[23] He was relieved of his duties as manager on 21 September 2022 while still employed by the club as Derby sought a permanent manager.[24] Following the appointment of Paul Warne, Rosenior left the club.[25]

    Hull City
On 3 November 2022, Rosenior was appointed head coach at Hull City on a two-and-a-half year deal, returning to the club where he made 161 appearances between 2010 and 2015.[26]

Preston North End will be without Ben Whiteman and Ched Evans for this fixture, with both players serving their respective suspensions.

Whiteman is set to miss the next three matches, while Evans has two games remaining on his retrospective ban.

There are no fresh injury concerns for manager Ryan Lowe to worry about, with long-term absentee Emil Riis the only man expected to be sidelined.

It’s been an up-and-down season so far for Hull City, having started the campaign strongly, before going through a tricky run of results which saw them drop towards the bottom of the division.

Since former Derby County coach Liam Rosenior was appointed as manager, though, it’s been much more of an upward curve.

They had lost just twice in 13 Championship matches heading into their game against Norwich City midweek, which saw them lose 3-1 at the home of the Canaries, so they’ll be looking for a reaction this weekend.

    Going Head To Head

    Hull City wins: 21
Last victory: Hull City 0-1 PNE

Óscar Estupiñán is by far and away the Tigers’ top goalscorer so far this campaign, having netted 12 in the league, with defender Jacob Greaves sitting second on their list of scorers with four.

The Colombian striker joined the club in July 2022 and really hit the ground running, scoring seven goals in his first six games, and he was named the Championship Player of the Month for August as a result of that form.

A dry spell followed, netting just once in 14 matches, but he hit form once more after Christmas, scoring in four successive games, and he'll no doubt continue to be a key man moving forward.

Sam Allison will referee his first Championship fixture this weekend.

Allison – a firefighter and former semi-professional footballer – took charge of his first EFL game in the 2020/21 campaign, and he’s regularly officiated in League One and League Two ever since.

So far this campaign, Allison has been refereed 24 games, showing 73 yellow cards and four reds in that period.

    MACS VIEW

Does this excitement ever end, East Yorkshire on a Saturday afternoon, will Mr Fantastic attacking football ever make a show or will we bore to death another bunch of home fans, suspect it will be the latter. City doing well at the moment after a coupe of iffy seasons, will be a tough test although if we start with 10 men we might actually make a go of it.
Coach setting off 30 minutes earlier than usual, possible a tour of down town Hessle and a quick stop in the land of Green Ginger.

    Attendance: 17,776.

    Referee: Mr S Allison.

Would be nice if we could actually play for 90 minutes but after being poor in the first period we improved in the second period and took a point which I think was a fair reflection of the game.
The coach took us past Boothferry Park or the housing estate which now stands on it, the railway bridge seems to have seen better days, interesting to see that theer is a possibility of a sports village being built in the near future personal view good for the area around the Stadium. Usual prematch walk round the Stadium down to the hospital over the bridge. Decent stadium various reviews on the food all gave positive responses so City obviously have got that right. Pitch looked in decent nick with the added addition of coloured egg chasing marking, Cas are at the ground today.
Whiteman and Evans suspended, McCann now apparently out for the season.
Started poorly could have been a goal down in the first 15 seconds, lack of control let the City player down and Woodman smothered the ball.
Weren't at the races in the first period City getting joy behind the wing backs, Storey had a nightmare against Tufan. City should have had two or three goals in the first period, some abysmal finishing also some good defending by us although we did manage some comedy dfending just before half time kept the score at 0-0. City claimed a penalty following Tufan's magnifcent Tom Daley dive, he got a yellow for his pains and started to fade from the game from that point. Delap blasted one into the side netting for us but teh half was very much City's.
Two substitutions at half time Delap and Storey departed and on cam Bambo and Parrott, again could have conceded in the first minute of half Woodman made a decent save and then hey presto something clicked and we had a 10 minute purple spell were we actually looked decnt only created one chance, Cannon chased and won the ball down by the corner flag, good cross first time effort by Parrott narrowly wid think possiby should have done better.
Parrott made a big difference looked to link play but was hampered by our midfield being so far back they were almost in Lincolnshire. He good help from Potts who must have run miles yesterday. Once that spell of pressure had finished it looked in all posibility it would end goalless, might have gone down to 10 after Bambo clattered into a home player but Mr Alison making his first Championship appearance only gave him a yellow.
It was a semi enjoyable game compared to some of the dross I've seen this season take the point and move on
Thank you the MKM you've been a great audience we will see you again next season.

    Preston boss Ryan Lowe:

"I thought a point was fair. We nearly nicked it, but you can't start games like we did in the first half.

"We had opportunities to win it but it's a good point in the grand scheme of things, away from home, to build on the point in midweek (against Luton) with 10 men.

"Second half was more like a Championship game and it was two teams who were trying to get three points. First half was nowhere near the levels from both teams and the second half was much better."

    Hull City boss Liam Rosenior:

"I'm delighted because what I asked from the players was a positive reaction to what was, from a performance point of view, the first time and the only time since I've been at the club that we weren't at the right level. Today we were and that's really pleasing.

"I know it's frustrating and we want to win games of football, but you only win when you have a consistent level of performance.

"Some of our build-up from the back they couldn't live with and on another day I think we win the game and we're out of sight by half-time.

"I was surprised by the booing. I've spoken about how important togetherness is here and I'm surprised, I'll be honest.

"We weren't clinical in the first half. We were so much in the ascendency. We could have been 3-0 up and that's the frustration. Unfortunately we didn't have that final moment and that's frustrating because we had 80 or 90 per cent of our game."
