"Words were said in the dressing room at half-time against Millwall, which was definitely needed because our performance in the first half wasn't good enough. To concede the goals in that manner we did was disappointing."

"We've sat down and watched it back and tried to watch it with an analytic point of view. I think we’ve cut individual errors out of our game over the last few months, but they are creeping back in lately and that has to stop."

"We've sat down and watched it back and tried to watch it with an analytic point of view. I think we’ve cut individual errors out of our game over the last few months, but they are creeping back in lately and that has to stop."

"We were all disappointed after the Millwall game and the major feeling was that it was an opportunity lost, especially when we saw the other results on the night."

"Collectively I think it's so important that we all stick together. We know that we're in a difficult situation, but we have to work together as a group to get the results we need in order to move up the table."

"We have so many players fit at the minute and that means it has to be a group effort. Everyone will have a part to play. Having Abel Hernández there was the highlight of Tuesday night, I think most fans will agree. He’ll be very important for us in the next few weeks."

"It's a hectic schedule and we go again on Saturday. Against Norwich, we’re going to be facing an entirely different style of play and a team that likes to keep possession and play out from the back but we’ll look to use that to our advantage."

"If you look at previous home games, we’re good at disrupting play and playing with an aggressive compact shape. We need to do that tomorrow. We need to get results and we need to put a decent run together to get us away from trouble."

"I'm passionate about football and what we do here at Hull City. I want us to do well and perform well. I don't think our first half performance against Millwall was of the standard required."

"We lost our composure after conceding in the first minute. It was a series of events that went with people making basic mistakes. We've done our analysis of the game. We've had a good debrief and I gave the players the chance to have their say as well."

"I maybe shouldn't have started Angus because he was struggling with an illness beforehand. I've sat down with him since the game and we've had a decent chat. But I have no issues at all with him, he’s a good player and he has a big future at this football club."

"I always ask questions, every training session or at half time. It’s all of us, we need to take responsibility. When we do a debrief the first person I look at is me. I look physically if they were ready, tactically and mentally."

"It’s fair to say it was far better in the second half and that was frustrating because it was a game we should have won and we haven't. We've done our debrief though and drawn a line under it. We turn the page and move forward. Our focus is now on the next challenge."

"Norwich City are an excellent passing side and keep the ball very well. It's going to be totally different to the Millwall game. They build out from the back and have some exciting players. There's going to be spells where we have to defend well."

"We've also got to patient and we have to expose their weaknesses we think they have. In respect to the way Millwall play, Saturday will be a different game. But, our preparation has been good and spirits are high going into the game."

"We’ve got three games in the next week and Harry Wilson and Abel Hernández could contribute after making their return from injury on Tuesday night. We have a squad of players and they all have to contribute."

"Ondrej Mazuch was very good when he came on and maybe I should have started him on Tuesday, but he’s coming back from an injury. Again, like Abel, is he a risk for 90 minutes? That's a decision I will have to make."

"Allan McGregor was out training with us today. He landed very awkwardly late on against Millwall but he finished the game. But, if he's not available then we have another excellent goalkeeper in David Marshall to come in. We'll just have to wait and see."

    The end.

Nah, I always start the thread as soon as they announce it's about to start and who's attending, then update it as they speak.

If you knew he was ill, it would probably have been a good idea not to lay into him immediately after the game.

Feels like we haven't had enough time to Moan about the Millwall game , never mind having to think about another one

That is exactly what struck me. Listening back to RH a guy called in to put that point, that McDonald didn't look right in the warm up. He said he watched him and he was struggling. It seems he should never have played, but as you say if you do play him then you don't single him out for criticism.

maybe he knew he was ill, McDonald convinced him he was ok and wanted to play, then it became obvious he wasn't

Yeah I was thinking something similar.

If McDonald had said he was fine, Nige has gone with that, then it was obvious he wasn't well, hence his out of character annoyance and comments post game.

Bad management either way and singling out players for public criticism rarely does any good

    Misjudged maybe, bad I disagree.

We moan about managers who are too chatty, who say **** all, or who are just honest.

If McD had misled him, it made him look like a daft manager, and I can understand why he'd be annoyed about that and would want to set the record straight.

But wasn't Nigel assessing and rating the warm-up as normal?

That illness is about as believable as Hull Venue’s random pursuit of Liam Gallagher.

    ARF!

Adkins did actually say that there'd been a problem with a sickness bug in the camp ahead of the MIllwall game.
