Dawson doing the presser with Leonid this morning... please log in to view this image “It was a little bit of a relief to get that first away win last time out. Now we’ve got it, we just want to kick on.” “I think last week the performance was well below what was expected. But we got the win and we move on.” “We’re back at the KCOM this weekend where we know we play our best football. It's a big game against Forest.” “I’ve got fond memories at the City Ground from the age of 10, watching the club in the Premier League.” “I still go back and I still look out for their results, but when you’re a player you support the team you play for.” “It just goes down as another game that we have to win. All that matters is coming away with the three points.” “Against Birmingham last time out at home, we had a great start - that always makes a difference - and pressing high up is key.” “We need to take advantage when we are on top and that is something we haven’t done enough this season.” “The gaffer has been great, having to come in and put a whole new squad together. It is a brand new squad and it takes time.” ”We’re still young as a group. We need to manage games better, but we all want to improve and get the results to move up the table.” Slutsky's up next... “We have no new injuries. We had a consultation about Stephen Kinglsey yesterday and it was positive news.” “The prognosis is two weeks, the same as Evandro. Hopefully both players will be back in training after the international break.” “We have really serious competition for places in every position. It is very very good and very fair competition.” “We will play against a strong team tomorrow in Nottingham Forest. They have a very good attacking group - young, skilful players.” “It will be a very difficult match for us. They have serious skill, but we will have key moments in the game as well.“ “We have to make the most of these key moments, and if we can do that, we will give ourselves a good chance of winning the match.” “Home matches are very important, playing in front of our fantastic fans. We are more confident at home.” The end.
I would expect Campbell to start, I would go for Meyler in for Larsson and Irvine in for Henriksen, though Toral is a bit unlucky not to have had more game time after his performance against Birmingham City.
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Campbell good to start up front. Slutsky perhaps leaning towards Irvine as a number 10 but gave little away. Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham No fresh injury concerns for Leonid Slutsky ahead of Forest tomorrow. Suggested it was a choice between Stewart and Meyler in midfield. It should be Stewart and Meyler in midfield, along with Irvine.
I'm not sure I'd drop Larsson (and don't think Slutsky will do). I'd also be equally happy with Toral or Irvine in the number 10 role. Toral seemed to get good reviews against Birmingham, and from what little I've seen of him I like him.
Played really well vs Birmingham, likes to play through balls and go forward instead of instinctively going backwards as his first choice. surprised he was dropped after that game. nice to have a choice in these positions though with decent players as back up
Henriksen "very" occasionally shows signs of being a good player then disappears again and does nothing for the rest of the game. hopefully he actually starts doing more if he keeps getting played, very strange when others are playing better than him yet not picked though
Sick of this Hendrickson knocking. You've got to play a player of his playing ability in his best playing position. If you don't play him in the position he's best in then you're playing him out of position! FFS if you do that then what do you expect, ffs. Play Hendrixson in his best position, against **** opposition, preferably when they've had a player or two sent off, and we'll really see his worth.
Just what I thought, you wouldn't imagine from this picture that Michael would end up taller than Andy.
