Rescheduled for Tue 26th April, the penultimate week of the season. That's three of our four last games now at home.
It makes our run in not so bad if you look at the league table right at the death, albeit some may be fighting for safety possibly. I remember our last promotion season when had a seemingly had an easy run and nearly foooked that up. Bristol - Drew Barnsley - Lost
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham #hcafc have seven of their 12 remaining games at home. Wolves, currently 12th, the highest placed team they'll host.
We do have a decent run on paper, but the whole concept of teams having better runs than others is stupid as they never work the way they are suggested to. The runs are only as good as your performances in said run.
Remaining home games: (current league position) 12 Mar - MK Dons (21st) 15 Mar - Nottingham Forest (13th) 2 Apr - Bristol City (20th) 16 Apr - Wolverhampton Wanderers (12th) 23 Apr - Leeds United (15th) 26 Apr - Brentford (17th) 7 May - Rotherham United (22nd)
Depending on Burnley v Boro on the 19/4 we should clinch automatic against TWS on St Georges Day then wrap up the title against Brentford on the 26/4. Happy Days.
That does sound pretty good if it comes to fruition. Relegating Colin ****er on the final day would be pretty nice too if possible.
conversely, worst case scenario of Colin f***ing us over last day of the season would be to much to take if it happened.
True, we do have 4 home games against teams in that position as it stands (Wolves, Forest, Leeds, Brentford), with the other 3 against relegation candidates.
Agreed, we also need to go on a decent run during the run-in to keep us in the running and not run out of steam and end up as also rans because as we all know this league is a marathon not a sprint. Being runners-up would not be the end of the world though.
Let's hope we're fighting burnley for the title & we're already promoted by the time we play Colin? But I must say he did do us a favour last night!!
Nice to see we have used a bit of sense for once and arranged it for when it suits us best, i'.e. when we know exactly how crucial it will be. I'v seen who Borough play in their final 4 games and I reckon they will have to sack 3 or 4 more managers before the end of the season. Can see them getting outwitted when it matters. These people are Yorkshire folk but they have Geordie DNA also which means they are prone to bipolar swings and managerial unhappiness.
I'm getting concerned at the use of 'Borough' by an increasing number of people. I do hope it's a pisstake that I've missed out on.
