One or two will be missing tomorrow through injury, Adkins won't say who, but Burnsy thinks is Burke and Lichaj.

No news on loans, unlikely to be any in for the Rotherham game.

On Toral - "Jon has got undoubted ability. He’s been made aware that he needs to be a little bit more robust in what he does and again it’s the timing of him playing. It was a fantastic first goal. He’s a talented football player and he’s part of what we want to achieve".

On Stewart - “We want Kevin to do really well, he was here before I joined. Kevin has played the majority of his time at full-back, he needs a bit more time to play a bit quicker. He’s a smashing lad, wants to do well and we’re doing everything we can to help him. That ankle injury last year hampered him. He’s looking fit and strong. I have to make decisions however.”

On the team selection - “Games are coming thick and fast, we’ll rotate the squad around, one or two have niggles who won’t feature but that may play on Tuesday. I’m not going to tell anyone the team at the moment but w ehave a group of guys who will give everything they have got.

“I’ve highlighted we can all see the games we have got, I want my players to play. We have to assess someone, the last thing we want is to rule someone out for as long as possible. James Weir and Ondrej Mazuch are definitely out. Ondrej has started running, in a couple of weeks he may be closer to joining us, after the international break is when he’ll be around.”

On da yoof - “All of them – the lads were excellent. The pathway for the youngsters – Dan batty and Jarrod Bowen have started well, Adam Curry, Robbie McKenzie, Brandon Fleming did ever so well. I’m mindful of their development. They have been outstanding throughout pre-season. They both played over in Kenya, and the lads have done really well. He had young Max Sheaf on the bench too, we are a small squad but the attitude and application are spot on.”

On transfers - “We talked about Oliver Norwood how we’d chased him but we missed out and he’d gone to Sheffield United. There’s others we’re actively looking to bring in, not for just the sake of it. We have to strengthen to benefit the squad. They need a little help and one little injury stretches the squad in this run of games. It’s not about 11, we’re going Saturday/Tuesday, the turnaround is there. It’s all about the team’s ethic.

    “We still need to strengthen.

On Blackburn - “We know it’s going to be tough against Blackburn, they’ve got promoted, a lot of spirit and plenty of threats. Their front-line particularly, they play effectively and Blackburn are going to be in a good place.

“They have the momentum and they are a good side. We’re looking to win every game however. We’ve prepared well for the game, the information is there and we have to go and perform. Our players will work their socks off – but forget the win, and work on the processes, and enjoy it.”

The club no longer tweet from the press conferences, making this a thread a bit of a ball-ache.

I wonder if we looked at Mazuch's injury history before signing him

'Kevin has played the majority of his time at full-back'

Forget the win, just enjoy it.

Well, that’s a confidence booster if ever I heard it. Maybe he’s trying to take the pressure off. It isn’t a very good tactic though, forgetting to win. We tried that a lot in the Premier League.

Turns out Lichaj isn't one of them.

I did read that and wondered if he was referring to his previous Liverpool days but apparently not either .. no wonder he ain't thought well of if he's supposed to be at full back !

He was at Spurs academy, but as soon as he went to Liverpool they switched him to midfield and that's where he's played for his entire professional career.

<laugh> Get ****ed, you might as well claim Harry Maguire has spent the majority of his career as a striker.

Yawn. I'll take niges opinion over yours.
Unless you're talking to Kevin Stewart on a daily basis obviously.

It’s not an opinion, it’s just not correct, other than a handful of games on loan at Crewe, he’s spent his entire pro career in midfield.

Strikes me Nige is just trying to come up with excuses for Stewart not being good enough, just as many did in reverse with Max Clark.

Maybe we should try him there, he can’t be any worse.

His pro career started in 2010.
So he will have played more games as a right back. The last. Few years he's hardly played, sub, injured as a centre mid.

It's areal worry anyway. I was hoping he would really kick on.
Then again he's just had a child and you dont know how that affected him his mrs and baby coulda been ill right through the pregnancy.

    Fingers crossed for him.
