A big thank you to all who have joined us for our fundraising nights for our two charities. CRY The monthly quiz nights at the Green Dragon Welton have raised £293 for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Many of you will know the background of this charity and its work, but for those who don't have a look http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/all-we-have-done-since-joshs-death-is-a-legacy-to-him/l Hull 4 Heroes Last night we held a quiz night and auction that raised £861 http://hull4heroes.co.uk/index.html The OSC is working hard to support these two causes and special thanks go out to everyone who donated auction items. There are more events planned, the next Quiz Night is at the Green Dragon is Monday 7th May.
Good effort. Great charities. Do the OSC have a pay-pal account,or similar, that can be used by people who may wish to contribute to your fund raising events but are unable to attend? I know donations can be made directly to the charities but I'd be good for the OSC if donations came through the OSC as part of their overall donation.
A good question and a good idea, we do not have one at the moment, but I will put it forward. We can easily adapt our "shop" for donations to specific charities and events. I will contact the director responsible. Thanks. Personally I do not do much towards these events as I live too far away, so I cannot take any credit. I just have to stand back and applaud their efforts. please log in to view this image
I bought a Hull for Heroes wristband from Tescos checkout in St Stephens. Not sure if they are doing it city wide but keep your eyes peeled
