Not sure, sometimes he looks like a world beater, sometimes he goes missing.

Never got the hype about Hulk. We played Porto enough times, and he never struck me as a special talent. For that money, they could have got better.

England more likely to win the euros than UEFA applying FFP

Hulk's a good player but £38 million is far too much.

I'm sure Gozalo Higuaine would be available for less than that and he's younger and has a better goalscoring record.

Also we bought Podolski for only 10 million and i'm confident he'll be a better buy than Hazard or Hulk.

    This <ok>

All I can say is that I'm glad Chelsea weren't in for Podolski, because they would have pushed the price up way beyond what we could afford.

  8. I think this a perfect exampe of why money is not the deciding factor in whether we should be expecting our club to win the league. Podolski £10m , Hulk £38m. Says it all.

This, he is very temperamental both on and off the pitch... he is going to to be the new Baptista <whistle>

I'm with SJW and The Bear here, i've not seen why the Hulk gets so much praise. Yes he's good but nothing special like Aguero, RVP etc. He doesn't do anything that is outstanding and for £38m, he bloody well should be special!

It's funny as he is on the same level as Podolski, a player we bought for £10m....

I think he'll be absolutely fine in the EPL. Only bad thing about it as far as Chelsea are concerned is the cost. If you insist on spending £38m then get the best you can for you money. He's probably worth half that.

FYI Podolski was running down his contract which is why he was so cheap. The real mystery is why nobody else seemed interested.

Podolski was a bargain, we shouldn't forget that. Wenger and co did brilliantly to secure his services. His contract situation played a big part in the price.
It is odd that nobody else was in for him, if Chelsea or City had been sniffing, there's no way we would have got him for £10m

  16. Let me get this righ then... Wenger is brilliant when he does manage to sign a player for a fraction of the price of what City and Chelsea pay, but even though we have these players that Wenger has done brilliantly to get, he's also brilliant when we dont compete for the title <doh>

Sooner or later you are just going to have to accept the truth - there ARE players who are just as good as the players City and Chelsea are signing for a fraction of the cost and we should be competing to win the league. Failure to do so is not brilliant. I actually do think that Wengers track record of finding and signing players is pretty good overall, he is just failing with his tactics, coaching, and motivation of the team.

I am sure Montpellier and Dortmund didnt think they couldnt compete going into their respective league campaigns <ok>

.... you were just saying that we can compete with City on the pitch, so surely Wenger is doing a good job if he's doing it at a fraction of the price.

  18. <doh>... we CAN compete with City on the pitch, but Wenger is not doing it.. We were miles behind them this year.

... so we're either competing with them or we're not. Which one is it ?
