Surprised it's taken this long for the customary "Stoke interested in Rodallega" story to appear.

    http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/259958/Stoke-turn-to-Hugo-Rodallega

STOKE are ready to turn their attentions to Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega after the collapse of Carlton Cole’s proposed £4m move to the Britannia Stadium.
Stoke manager Tony Pulis is poised to bid £8m for Colombia striker Hugo Rodallega, after Stoke’s interest in West Ham and England striker Carlton Cole foundered when talks reached deadlock over personal terms.

Too true Sgt, seriously disappointed it's taken so long, I suppose he would take less than KJ - same as Crouch LOL.

DJ Campbell wouldn't have been on more than £10K a week at Blackpool and scored more goals than Cole and Jerome put together, dunno about Hugo, probably not double figures though.

It defeats me to see that we are continually linked with Strikers that don't Strike.

Oh and before anybody starts, Walters WAS the exception

Sorry, forgot to add, 20 league goals a season equals a hefty TX fee AND wage packet, if it gets you near the top 6 - and more income!!

I note in one of your posts SGT that Coates and Pulis are meetin tomorrow to discuss ongoin transfer strategy - be a short meeting eh?

Easy innit but have you EVER seen a poor bookie?

I think as a compromise for size and pace he is agood option, however I cant see him moving for under 10 million (based on Whelans stance) and he is surley earning or will be touted ofr 40k+ a week - hence he wont come! I like the Crouch option but again if we cant secure Cole I dont see how a true international, having played effectively in europe and playing at a much bigger club than West Ham is going to be within our grasp, but I hope I am wrong!

We still need out and out pace, and with KJ contracted and heavily invested in (Pulis loves him) then surely a Defoe type player would be better, even on loan? I would alos like to think that bellamy could do the job, but i think his wages, age and fitness would not make sence! So Rodallega an option, but I cant see him coming for less than 10 million and with european teams interested in him I think there are better options we could spend our money on!

Wouldn't mind seeing Rodallega banging them in for us to repay the 4 miilion he cost us at the end of last season!

I was hoping we'd relegate Wigan last season so we could get him a bit cheaper :p

I think both him and Crouch would be great signings, Crouch more-so than Rodellega. If we are succesful in Europe we're going to have alot more games this season, and if we do better in the League Cup we really will have alot more games, so signing thm both is an option.

Granted I'd prefer a faster player with a good-scoring record or at least promise, ie Defoe/Sturridge. But if we sign both of these we've got some really top strikers in, with plenty of competition for Walters/Jones/Fuller.

If we do sign a Rodallega, Crouch etc I wonder where this would realistically leave Mamaba? Walters and Fuller offer you something slightly different from the likes of crouch and jones and is it possible to rotate anymore than 4 quality strikers?
