chavez is a legend and could not be further from mussollini, mussolini was a fascist, chavez is most defiantely not a fascist . its funny how much he is disliked by the usa purely because he wont let them steal his countries oil reserves. in another twist he uses the revenue generated from the oil for schools and hospitals rather than a few benefitting the majority benefit. his image is constantly tarnished by right wing media in the us who like to tell the world he is a dictator and a crack pot - though his television addresses every sunday do not help him to dispell this view

Trouble is, we no longer have a Merchant fleet capable of supporting a RN task force on anything like the scale of 1982, so if the Argies decide to invade, with or without the support of Venezuela, the Falkland islanders are f****d. Don't tell Chavez though, he may not have noticed.
I hope we dont need the yanks to step in if this all kicks off again. Britian has been quite savvy in this as we will at least be supported by the US if it does kick off, as we have given an American company a contract to do with the Oil worth billions so the yanks will not want to lose that..

If the Argies had even a slightly valid claim to the Falkands, I'd say give 'em back, but they have no claim whatsoever, since the French and Spanish left in the early 1800s no nationality has been on the islands except the British and we've had a permanent colony since 1840, Argentina were still fighting for independence from Spain and trying to sort out their own constitution by then. The Falklands are British, simple as that and as far as I'm concerned, any country/politicians making advances on them are doing so to rattle sabres and gain support from the less than intelligent masses in their countries as their own countries suffer instability, any attack on the islands is an attack on Britain and should be treated in exactly the same way, we ****ed up in 1982 by not destroying the whole Argentine navy and airforce, if they ever attack again we need to finish the job off properly.
