...every day of the week as Lambert's replacement.

He has shown that he can work with tight budgets but still be successful. Wasn't given the chance to show his ability at Premier League level with Newcastle. Can get the best out of players and seems like a thoroughly honest bloke and very, very professional.

I would also suggest Hollaway but he seems to get his knickers in a twist too often.

    Chris Powell?

A nod to the "young and hungry" theme currently in vogue...

As if Hughton would go from Birmingham to a backwater like Norwich, get real! <laugh><laugh> There’s little chance of Mr Charlton Chris Powell even considering budgieville either. There won’t be many managers queuing up to work with McNally that’s for sure, the man has a frightfully horrific reputation. <ok>

Agreed, would very happily have him as new boss.

Would be a good shout but I think he's far too happy at Charlton!

As a big outside shout Glenn Hoddle? Has done a very impressive little job out in Spain although people often just look at his England career. I don't think it will happen and I don't really want it to, was just thinking of alternatives not mentioned.

Lee Clark or Karl Robinson, Lee Clark may be favourite for the Gillingham job which is shocks me but he could do well for you, but if I was betting on someone and wanted to take a punt on someone who is an outsider it would be Karl Robinson. One reason is because of him being around the area and the second reason is that he is a good young manager who has done reasonably well at MK>

I think Holoway would be great if you could get him or Malky who will probably get the job, could not see Holoway leaving Blackpool as he loves it there.

Would be happy with Robinson, he has done a very good job and seems an exciting young manager. Really don't want Holloway, he is entertaining and can motivate players but tactically I feel he is quite poor

Mikey, didn't you say something similar about Lambert when he moved to us from Colchester?

It's good that there are options and I'm genuinely excited to see who we go for. It pays to be a fickle fan.

Hughton too is my number 1 choice, I have a feeling McNally may go for someone none of us expected personally.

Poyet or Clark are your men, IMO.

Hughton would do a solid job.

Obviously, I'm a Mackem, so feel free to disregard my uninvited opinion <ok>

hughton by a mile my first choice.

i do like karl robinson though - i think he has terrific potential but may be a tad too young at this moment in time. i hear mcnally is a fan though and got on very well with him when they appeared on a tv show together (late kick off i assume).

i cannot stress enough how bad an appointment lee clark would be. he is massively overrated and had enormous issues with huddersfield behind the scenes with players. don't be hoodwinked by his record - there were numerous reasons why he was dismissed by the club <ok>

Lee Clark is NOT the man for our club. He has done absolutely nothing to warrant managing a Premier League team.

Chris Hughton for as well. The best man available that we can potentially afford.<ok>
