There is a lot here about Hughton being sacked. What about him deciding he is no good for the club. He is tactically inept, makes poor choices in selection, cannot respond to a game situation, has not got the best out of his players. Surely such an individual with integrity and a footballing brain ought to consider resigning to save himself and his club any further humiliation? If not then when would he consider going?
I think Hughton genuinely believes that if he keeps us up, he has done a good job. If we go down - well, what do you expect, we were favourites for the drop. Can't see him thinking he has done anything wrong.
