QPR manager Mark Hughes insists he will not waste time chasing lost causes as the club look to strengthen during this month's transfer window. The Welshman replaced Neil Warnock at the Loftus Road helm less than two weeks ago and has moved swiftly in a bid to bring in reinforcements. Rangers have reached an agreement with Sao Paulo for striker Henrique subject to a work permit, while the club have made approaches for defenders Nedum Onuoha, Alex, and Christopher Samba. Despite the latter handing in a transfer request, Blackburn remain keen to keep hold of him and are believed to have rejected two bids from the R's. Important Hughes was coy when asked about Samba on Thursday but did highlight the importance of knowing when to give up the ghost. "You go to a different club and you have conversations," he said. "We've made bids - not just for Chris Samba - and we'll see where that takes us. "Obviously there comes a point where you need to draw a line under some deals because you don't think they are going to progress. "We'll have to look at each deal in isolation and make judgements on them as and when we feel need to walk away from things. "At the moment, that is not the case with a number of situations but there is not much of the window left and we have to be mindful of that. "If we want to do that, we have to do it very quickly." Links QPR have been linked with hoards of players since the January transfer window reopened. Fulham strikers Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson are thought to be targets and asked whether he would go back to his former club, Hughes said: "We're getting loads of names thrown at us. Some we're interested in, some we're not. "We're looking through things to make sure that we're are all clear in our minds which targets we're going to go for and to really concentrate and focus on those. "At this time of the year you get a lot of suggestions from agents and you need to be mindful of that, but focusing on your needs is paramount." http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7442740/?
