By talkSPORT Friday, January 20, 2012 West London rivals QPR and Fulham are set for a transfer tussle over Spanish midfielder Xavi Torres. The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Levante from Malaga but has been attracting interest from across Europe after a string of stellar displays. Atletico Madrid are keen on doing a deal but reports in Spain have now claimed that Fulham and QPR are currently leading the chase for his signature. Mark Hughes has earmarked the midfield for strengthening after becoming QPR boss earlier this month and is ready to take on his old club for Torres' signature. But the Premier League pair will have to wait until the summer to conclude a permanent switch for Torres, who spent two seasons at Barcelona earlier in his career. Because he is considered surplus to requirements at Malaga, he could be available for as little as £1.5m when the summer transfer window opens. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/1477/77/hughes-fight-former-club-fulham-spanish-midfielder?
