Hughes: This will be QPRâs last transfer blitz 28/08/2012 by David McIntyre This is the final transfer window in which a glut of signings will be made by QPR, manager Mark Hughes has insisted. Rangers have signed a new-look team in successive windows under current chairman Tony Fernandes and the previous regime fronted by Flavio Briatore. But Hughes says a line will finally be drawn once the next deadline arrives. âWeâve had a huge turnover of players. I think since Tony Fernandes came to the club weâve probably allowed 20 or so players to leave,â said the Râs boss. âWeâve been able to add 12 or 13 players of, in my view, better quality. Thatâs what weâre trying to do â increase the quality of the first XI and the squad that underpins it. âThereâs still business to be done and Iâm sure there will be comings and goings, but certainly this window wonât be replicated in January and in seasons to come. âThis [signing players] is something that we envisaged needed to be done, but once weâve gone through the process and the squadâs settled weâll add quality as and when we see fit.â
Even if we are, we won't be signing another 8 players in one window. He's right though, it had To be done...
Let's hope we only need to sign one ' Gallatico ' in the summer window in future. It will be nice to have some stability and enjoy watching a settled side who knows what each other is doing. URssss.
